Merguez

After seeing the Le Gamin review here on SE:NY, I'm curious if anyone out there knows where else to get merguez around NYC.

If there are multiple places, which ones are your favorite? Is it budget friendly?

I know you can get it at the Vinegar Factory on 91st and York.

Whole Foods carries it in their sausage case.

you can get it at garden of eden on 14th street. i love it in batali's mint love letters (on babbo's menu or you can make it yourself - the recipe is online in several sites).

I have found merguez at one of the meat vendors at the Union Square farmers' market.

I second the merguez at the Union Square farmer's market - the vendor is called Three Corner Field Farm and all their lamb products (meat, cheese, yogurt) are delicious. It's not cheap, but very high quality - OMG the brebis blanche cheese with lavender!

If you're looking for a restaurant, Le Bateau Ivre has a tasty version. 230 East 51st St between 2nd and 3rd. Decent wine selection, too. Friendly place, medium priced.

Last I checked (about a year ago) Citarella on 75th and B'way had it.
