Leftover steak?

I have some leftover steak and am trying to figure out what to do with it. I know I don't want to make a sandwiches. Suggestions?

Fajitas, tacos, beef fried rice, beef stir fry, chili, spaghetti sauce, steak & eggs, beef burrito, steak salad.

If you have rice noodles at home, you could make a nice noodle soup with strips of steak in it.

My mom used to slice up leftover steak and reheat it in gravy and we'd eat it as a sandwich or over mashed potatoes.

What is better than a steak salad? Not much. A nice crisp bit of lettuce, juicy tomatoes, thinly sliced red onions, thinly sliced steak and a nice blue cheese dressing. OMG! It's tough to beat.

I love leftover steak diced small in a frittata with corn, a little milk, and a lot of black pepper

I echo everything dbcurrie and cochon offered up.

Also, if you slice it and saute with chorizo, it makes a very flavorful carne asade to go in, or with, many mexican dishes.

Thai Beef Lemongrass Salad is a great option, too.

Or, make Chili con Carne

Cheers,

Steak salad!

This is a great way to use leftover grilled steak from the night before. It is a steak, potato and salad meal in one.

Ingredients

1 lg. rib eye steak, grilled or leftover from the night before, sliced
2 good-size radishes, sliced thin
1 ripe avocado, diced
2 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
1/2 Vidalia onion, sliced
1 sm. tomato, chopped
12 thick-cut frozen Idaho French fries, baked
1-2 Tbs. olive oil
summer salad greens (packaged)
grated mozzarella cheese
Your favorite salad dressing (Ranch works well)

Directions

Place frozen French fries in singe layer on a pan and sprinkle with olive oil. Bake in the oven at 400 degrees until crisp. Place a serving of summer greens on two serving plates. Add sliced radishes, avocado, onion, and tomato to each plate. Add slices of cooked rib eye steak to each plate. Sprinkle equal amounts of crumbled bacon and grated cheese over each plate. Place hot, cooked French fries on top to melt the cheese. Serve with choice of salad dressing and seasonings.

*The addition of French Fries to this salad is a MUST. Don't knock it until you've tried it.

How much do you have left and what kind of steak is it a whole slab? If so Pound it and make rolled stuffed steak. Other ideas breakfast for dinner such as: chicken fried steak and eggs ect.
For dinner- Swiss steak, salisbury steak.

These suggestions are great! I came to a road block with this. I have one rib-eye steak left that I had cooked medium-well and don't want to eat it plain and was worried if I cooked it further it would get too tough.

Okay so it is cooked, well everyones ideas above or make a steack and veggie soup. Just add the steak strips near the end and simmer for awhile.

We always cook an extra steak to be able to have steak/tomato/blue cheese salad the next day. Mixed greens, avocado, red onion, and a light vinagrette. I like it better than the first round of steak!

I love steak salad, I also add roasted red bell peppers to mine. I am with you ocarol, it is even better than the first go around.

Left over steak? I've never heard of such a thing. Next time just call me and you won't have to worry about what to do with the left overs. :)

Add thin slices along with some veggies to a bowl of ramen. The heat from the soup will warm the meat enough.

cold...straight out of the fridge for breakfast...one of the best things. :) Other then that, i vote slicing it up on a salad w/ some blue cheese

I always take whatever leftover meat we have from dinner the night before and turn it into a breakfast burrito. I scramble up some eggs with whatever veggies I find in the fridge, throw in the meat to warm it up, top with cheese, salsa, and cilantro if I've got some. Wrap it up in a warm tortilla for breakfast on the go.

slice it thin, saute it with onions and put it on a bun! My dad was a firefighter, and would work overnights, so my mom and I would do this on nights when he was on duty!

Medium well??? Oh, why would anyone do that to a rib eye...? You've kind of limited your choices of what you can do with your leftovers because it's already overcooked.

I suggest cooking it in liquid. Chunk it, cook in liquid and try to get some moisture back into it. You can make a beef pot pie out of it.

Make a pot of Black bean soup with steak slow cooks in it....yummy!!!

Slice thin, sprinkle with tiny bit of kosher salt and fresh black pepper. Eat.

I make beef fajitas with leftover steak. Slice your leftover steak into thin slices and season with salt, pepper, and a sprinkle of chlli powder. In a small amount of oil over fairly high heat, stir fry a few slices of onion and green or red peppers. Add the sliced steak to the skillet for 30 seconds or so, just to warm the meat. Spoon the steak mixture into a warm flour tortilla and add your favorite toppings. Sometimes all I add is bottled taco sauce and sour cream.

Thank you for the additional suggestions!
-the realchiffonade - you're right - why would I do that to a rib-eye! It doesn't do it justice! I wasn't paying attention -_____-

The meat could be used in chili w/ your usual ingredients.

Omelette w/ whatever you want -- mushrooms, spinach, tomatoes, etc. Don't forget the Cholula. :)

Dice into onions, left-over carry-out rice, and garlic, and fry in bacon grease.

Yum - breakfast stuff. Not really healthy and can't do it often [the bacon grease part at least] but yum regardless.
