Leftover Hot Cocoa Mix

I managed to acquire too many boxes of hot cocoa mix this winter and now i'm stuck with it. Now that spring cleaning has arrived I don't want to let it sit around. I'm looking for ways to get some use out of it now that the cold season has passed.

What are some ways I can incorporate it into other dishes?
Does anyone have any favorite recipes or combinations they have tried?

Blend them with ice, coffee, and milk (or ice cream!) for a homemade frappe or just sprinkle the powder over ice cream sundaes.

Or, if you want to get REALLY creative, try substituting the cocoa powder for some of the sugar in your favorite cookie or brownie recipe and see what you come up with! I wonder if you could even find a way to make hot cocoa frosting for a cupcake?

Also, you could brew your own chai with spices and boiling water, let it cool, and combine half chai and have chocolate milk (from your cocoa) for a iced chocolate chai treat! I used to do this at a coffee shop I worked at and it was delicious!

i like to cut lines and snort it up my nose.

i kid, but in 4th grade i did try to impress my classmates my snorting fun-dip.
not actually fun.

OT, I know, but I knew a guy in college who used to snort Sour Patch Kids sugar before an exam.

It goes great in brownies, just reduce the amount of sugar in the recipe.

These truffles are seriously addicting and a good way to use up hot chocolate mix:

Peanutty Chocolate Truffles

3/4 cup creamy peanut butter
1/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/3 cup Rich Chocolate NESTLÉ® CARNATION® Hot Cocoa Mix
1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup finely chopped cocktail peanuts

Line baking sheets with waxed paper.
Beat peanut butter, butter and vanilla extract in medium bowl until creamy. Combine cocoa mix and powdered sugar in another bowl. Stir into peanut butter mixture.
Place peanuts in flat dish. Scoop peanut butter mixture into 1 1/2-inch balls; roll in peanuts to coat. Place on prepared baking sheets. Refrigerate until firm.
Makes 24 truffles.

In reference to the sugar snorting comments I have to say purple pixie sticks are the worst. Oh the bad decisions I made in elementary school.

Thank you for the truffle recipe it looks delicious. I'm going on a baking binge soon so the brownies will be a good treat as well.

@ houdini - my best friend did that...

for the mix... into frosting, sprinkled on cake, in cookies

You could try thickening hot chocolate with cornstarch to make chocolate pudding? I don't have exact measurements, trial and error I suppose.

give it away to friends .... have a hot chocolate party! it's great in cappuccino.....

leave a powder trail of hot chocolate so you can find your way back home....

frozen hot chocolate!
