Ideas for fresh beans...

I have a bunch of fresh chickpeas and not a clue what to do with them. On the same note many other beans that I typically buy dried are fresh (and cheap) at my farmer's market). Any ideas?

I recently made a simple chick pea salad with cucumbers, grape tomatoes, onion (MUST have the onion!), fresh parsley, S&P and tossed it with balsamic vinegar. It was REALLY good. My chick peas still had a bit of a bite to them (not mushy) and I used a lot of the vinegar but it was so yummy.

Sautee onions and garlic in olive oil, add tomatoes (canned are fine), chickpeas and spices (Indian, Mexican, etc.), peppers, etc. and simmer until chick peas are done and the liquied is reduced. Serve over rice.

If you have more than just some for eating right away, blanch and freeze them for later.
Otherwise, there are lots of good grain salads they could go in, or chana masala, or your own hummus, or in a sausage and spinach soup with potatoes, or with couscous and garlic.
I can never find fresh chickpeas, so enjoy them for me too!

Thanks for this question... I received in my CSA box a bag of fresh pole beans and I have NO IDEA what to do with them... all ideas are welcome.

@Madelyn- Pole beans can be used in much the same way as regular green beans they just tend to be a bit more tough and fibrous so require longer cooking.
While I prefer green beans just plain when eating, I do like some flavor on pole beans.

I like them blanched well, then sauteed in butter and onion with red pepper flakes, or slow-cooked in a good spicy tomato sauce.
I also like them chopped small and lightly fried in olive oil along with red peppers, zucchini and baby carrots and then tossed with a vinegary dressing and a nice grainy base like couscous or quinoa.
