I hate you, SeriousEats

I was so busy reading about hamburgers on AHT that I just burnt my grilled cheese.

i know what you mean, sometimes i have to tear myself away to do my work..... SE is a great distraction.

Warning: Reading Serious Eats can distract you. Never read Serious Eats while cooking, driving, operating heavy machinery, drying you hair in the bathtub, having sex or using a sharp object.

Been there, done that. I actually had milk boil over on the stove this morning while I was on SE. What a mess! Won't give up this terrific site though.

I know I know..while reading SE the other day, my rice pudding boiled over and had rice and milk all over the stove top, kitchen floor etc...but reading this site is addictive... :o)

@Kenji: I think we actually cover this in the fine print when you sign up. ;)

Actually, it would be funny to add to the legalese.

I don't usually have that problem, as I can only really read this while in the office, and my lunches are usually of the cold sandwich (and lately, animal crackers) type, but I have been late for meetings...oops.

My office area is right next to my kitchen. I can't tell you how many times SE has screwed something up in the kitchen for me.

You're a statistic, dude. I think we've all done that from time to time. Focus your hatred on the internet. I'm sure it's responsible for more burned dinners than any other distraction including video games, soap operas or checkbook balancing.

Haha, oh the irony. We drool over virtual food while ruining the real stuff.

I love that you "hate" serious eats! LOL

It helps my diet. I "eat" the virtual stuff, lots of it - especially Talk. Keeps me out of the kitchen, so nothing can boil over.
