Washington, D.C. Restaurant--Birthday

So it's my birthday next week, and I'd like to go out to an awesome restaurant. An awesome restaurant where the bill will NOT equal my rent.

It'll be 3 people. I was thinking Citronelle, or Komi, but, uh, we would be bankrupt.

Anyone know of a relatively inexpensive (but fantastic) restaurant that would average maybe $120 a person? (With wine?)

I know it's not a big budget to work with, but I do want to find someplace nice.

Gracias!

Blue Duck Tavern is the perfect place for this sort of thing. It's my top choice for birthdays, out-of-town visitors, and other special events. The place is beautiful. It has a large open kitchen, visible from just about any seat in the house. If the weather's nice, you can sit outside. The service is impeccable, and the food is well worth the price. It will definitely be within your $120 per person budget. Go there; you won't be sorry!

Have you tried Restaurant Eve in Alexandria? Their food is delicious. They have a tasting menu for a pre-fixed price or you can order entrees....

Central Michel Richard is the bistro-food not-an-arm-and-a-leg version of Citronelle. A bit noisy but some people find that festive. Great stuff. 11th & Penn, or close by.

Yes! I went to Central for the last birthday!! I loved it, but yes, it was very noisy.

Restaurant Eve is a DEFINITE maybe.

Blue Duck Tavern is someplace we just went for a meeting (I'm a meetings planner) so it is definitely awesome.

You guys rock!

I third Blue Duck Tavern.
