Veg Liaison - Part 2
Does anybody know what happened to it? I remember a lot of talk about starting one up with (hopefully) the very awesome possible name of Seriously mEATless. Much chatter and then nothing. Is one going to actually be started up here? Or is the veg thing her and I'm just missing it?

You're not missing it! I think Adam was supposed to look into finding a veg willing to write it ...

I'm still looking, Chisai! Admittedly, it's been slow-going on my part, as this has been on my back burner*—like a slowly simmering vegetable stew (with vegetable stock). If you know of anyone or have any suggestions, here's are the magic ingredients I am/we are looking for:
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Familiarity with the Serious Eats community and "voice" and ability/willingness to write toward it
- Sense of humor/ability to dish it out and take it
- Ability to make weekly deadlines
- Web/computer-savviness
- A good-quality digital camera
- Strong photo chops
- Basic photo-editing software and ability to edit photos
- Familiarity with blogging platform(s)—WordPress, Blogger, Movable Type, etc.
And anyone else reading this who is not Chisai, same goes for you—if you know anyone who fits this description OR IF YOU(!) fit this description and want to write a weekly vegetarian-recipe column for SE, get in touch: editor@seriouseats.com.Tell us why you want to write for SE and give us an idea of what direction your column would take. Include a link to your blog or links to writing samples/photography. Please, no attachments.
I'll also move that soup to the front burner and get crackin' on the search myself.
*The good news is that we've rearranged our schedules, and I'll have more time now to search for these elusive person.

Um...does it really have to be the same person every week? We've got quite a few vegetarians and almost-vegetarians who frequent this site, so what about SE taking submissions from those who are interested and just publish the best ones as needed? I suspect that after a while the pool will narrow itself down and maybe you'd end up with 3-4 writers who'd be submitting monthly and some random ones to fill the gaps. And a monthly "assignment" might be a lot easier for people to commit to than a weekly one, particularly when it requires testing recipes.

^I agree with @dbcurrie--a diversity of voices would be nice.
I will apply once I begin to blog again, if you are still searching...

I like this idea. Plus, having more than one person means that you could have everyone from ovo-lacto vegetarian to vegan writers, who would know different cooking techniques/methods/products, etc.
And it looks like both HeartofGlass and I would be interested. *hint hint*

It took a while, but we found someone to cover the vegetarian field for us: Michael Natkin of Herbivoracious. And, yes, we're calling it Seriously Meatless.
