Speaking of bathing in special sauce...
The green sauce question started me thinking. Does anyone know what's in the white sauce served at halal carts? Not exactly tzatziki, definitely not tahini, not plain yogurt, but WHAT?
Simultaneously creamy, tangy and cooling.
Any ideas?

I hate to burst your bubble, but a lot of the time it's just mayo mixed with vinegar. And it's really, really tasty.

No bubble bursted here. It could be made of spoiled eggs and I'd still want it!

i don't know about vinegar... but most of the carts use a combination of mayo, sour cream, and or yogurt. Different carts use different combos/ratios, but it's usually some combo of those three.
