Chinatown Birthday Eats
I know that there have been various posts on Chinatown eats, but I need specifics. A close friend and I will be walking around randomly in Chinatown. When we get hungry, we will want some place filling, fairly-priced, and clean. Both our birthdays are this week, and we plan to hang out next week. We want a place that has variety. I am more or less of a pesketarian (sometimes a flexitarian), while she refuses to eat any seafood or lamb. We both enjoy tea and Chinese bakery pastries. I just want to eat at a dim sum place, have some mantou, birthday cake, and then some bubble tea from Vivi's.
If you know any places not necessarily in Chinatown, but in walking or public transportation-distance from it, I'll try them.
So, any ideas where to go?
Thanks for everyone's help!

You can try Vegetarian Dim Sum House!

Or try Red Egg on Centre near Hester...they don't have the pushcarts, so you'll be missing out on that experience, but the decor is nice, the dim sum good, and prices fair (a quarter to fifty cents more than the traditional places, but nothing that will break the bank)...

If it's not too late for me to chime in, I ate my last birthday dinner in Chinatown at Shanghai Cafe (100 Mott St). It's not dim sum, but they have dim sum-like dishes and there's a lot to choose from.
