Ceviche in Brooklyn?
The weather is getting warmer and I'm looking for some excellent ceviche in Brooklyn and I'm hoping for something that's reasonably priced with an ample serving size. Any suggestions?
Ceviches I've had in Bklyn: Bogota Bistro (good but a pricey for the service size), Coco Roco (delicious), and the Red Hook Ball fields (delicious, wish it were available more often!).
Thanks!

the ceviche at chimu in williamsburg is phenomenal - i think it's like fifteen bucks, but it's a ton of food and soooo delicious. i've had other ceviches, but this is always the one that i remember as the best.

I had the ceviche @ Chimu a couple years back + it really wasn't good. Not fresh, not high-quality fish, etc.
Has it improved? Can you compare it to ballfields or queens ceviche?

Been there...done it! Not so great... the three key notes to great ceviche are as follows 1. freshness 2. flavor profiles 3. very cold temps!!! You are better off finding a place that knows these are the key points to follow or just go buy some fresh snapper (or fish of choice), cilantro, chilies, limes, yams, ginger, toasted cumin...whatever...and have a nice little cocktail party at your casa. Its better and cheaper and with jazz, cold beer, or some lighter rieslings you got a better party than a place that does not show enough concern for their product!...cheers

I've had ceviche at Palo Santo on Union Street in Park Slope a handful of times, including a flight of 3 different ceviches at a wine dinner, and it has always been impeccable. In season, Palo Santo does ceviche CosteƱo served with boiled sweet potatoes and corn on the cob.
