Bionicos, a mexican fruit salad

When in California I fell in love with Bionicos. It is a fresh fruit salad, mine included apple, banana, strawberries, papaya, dried coconut, served in a large cup. It is filled with a white, sweet drink on top of the fruit, and then has some crunchy granola on top. You eat it with a spoon, and it is delicious. I haven't seen them in the NYC area, but would love to. Anyone know about these?

Was the sweet drink horchata, by any chance?
I've never heard of Bionicos, but when you said white sweet drink, I thought of horchata.

yes, i thought of the same thing. it's a milk made by soaking rice and then using the liquid, sweetening it with sugar and cinnamon .... i believe.

It's not horchata on top, it's just plain old sweetended condensed milk- don't let that put you off 'em though. Living in California is a beautiful thing, especially in the Los Angeles area. There are three fruit stands selling Bionicos and fresh juice within walking distance of my house. Did you ever try an escamocha or fresas con crema while here? Those are especially killer and like the Bionicos, feature sweetended condensed milk as well.

pumpkinbear is right. truly magical sweetened condensed milk.

This might be the one thing that I miss the most from Southern California. Every single day I would get a fruit salad from Senor Mangos in San Diego. The best, freshest fruit topped with cottage cheese, honey, almonds, granola and shaved coconut. Sadly, I haven't found anything close in New York.

@pumpkinbear thats why i could never replicate the fresas con crema I got in Mexico!!! but i dunno where to get bionicos or escamochas on the east coast. I did see a Michoacana, but all they sold were paletas.
