Best Steamed Crabs in Baltimore?
I'm headed to Baltimore next weekend and would like to fill my belly with some of the city's best steamed blue crabs. Any recommendations? Where do the locals go?

As a local, I'm attaching a link for you to access to the "best" crabhouses in Baltimore, since there are a LOT of good crabs in Baltimore. Hope it helps. And if you really like crabs, have some crabcakes and buy some Old Bay to take home with you. Then you can keep the good taste of Balto. with you all the time!

I forgot the link. Sorry about that; I was getting excited thinking about the crabs!

All those places warmfood gave are good and there is the Stoney Creek Inn 8238 Fort Smallwood Road Baltimore. Guy Fieri went there for his show.

My Vote is for Cantler's in Annapolis!!!

Cantler's in Annapolis is a long-time favorite.
For right in Baltimore, I'd vote for Gunning's: old-fashioned, delicious, and fun...
Definitely avoid Obrycki's - touristy and sub-par.

If you need confirmation of my crab knowledge and adoration, check out this post where I entered a pie contest (Martha Stewart as judge) and made MD CRAB SOUP POT PIE...mmmmmmmm

my go-to spot is L.P. Steamers in Locust Point. No need to look at a menu, just ask what size crabs they have (the price will vary), order a dozen that fits your budget; and a pitcher of beer. done. if you feel fancy, start off with some oysters on the half shell.

I agree with L.P. Steamers. Especially the rooftop deck when the weather is nice.

Cantler's in Naptown is the only way to go. I know its not B'more but you really cant beat Cantlers.

No offense meant towards the OP. Just an observation.
It's funny how everyone forgets that Baltimore is only a small part of "The Bay", and equates it as the best place on "The Bay:" for crabs and such. In reality, Virginia is where it's at for bay seafood. Not that Baltimore isn't great for it as well, but I just think it's rather sad that the rest of the shoreline doesn't get it's due credit, as Baltimore is far from having the best that can be found along it's shores.

Hey, Raiders757: Baltimore has enough trouble, lay off our claim to Steamed Crabs. When ya'll Virginians invent something as tasty as Old Bay (yeah, I know, it's not technically made *in* Baltimore..) then you can challenge us. (I say, in a lighthearted tone not meaning any actual offense.)

Cantler's in Annoplis is the best EVER

I'm the Baltimore Sun restaurant critic who made up the list that warmfood linked to. (Thanks, warmfood!) I want to add that if you're around on a Tuesday, Ryleigh's Oyster Bar in Federal Hill has $2 steamed crabs. You'll see that's a deal when you find out what they regularly cost.
