Restaurant Supply in NYC?
Hey all!
I'm in serious need of some new kitchen goodies, but don't want to spend an exorbitant amount. Can anyone in NYC recommend a great (read: reasonably priced) restaurant supply store? I want to pick up a few sheet pans, random storage containers, squeeze bottles, etc. I know there are a bunch in the Bowery/Chinatown area, but I was wondering if anyone has a specific store they frequent. Thanks!

They all have different prices and different stuff. You can haggle with them too if you're paying cash and buying lots of things. Don't go to the one on the north corner of Houston and Bowery, it's overpriced. Go to the ones south of Houston on the west side of the Bowery. I love Bari because they have lots of stuff, but again, they won't have the best prices on everything. You have to hustle a little.

I concur. Theres a lot of stuff and different stores specialize in different things. I have wandered into many of these stores just to see what they have and contemplate how I want to restock when i have the cash. The one thing that bothers me is that they are a bit cluttered. Also a few places had staff that would.. follow me around asking if i needed help. Apparently, a college student looks like they need to be hounded? (Its not like i can shoplift a sheetpan or an industrial deep-fryer) I got really frustrated and left without buying something.
When im looking for a more "retail-store" experience, I like to go to The Broadway Panhandler (on 8th/Astor Place) or The Bowery in Chelsea Market.
