Rachel Ray dog food? WTF ... now I've seen it all!

OK. I'm a butcher in a large grocery store in central Florida. Today at work, the demo lady had a table with Rachel Ray dog food, an opened bag with a plateful on her table. I see 2 things wrong here.

#1: Rachel Ray shilling dog food? Maybe leftovers from 30 minute meals?

#2: A damn plateful of dry dog food on her demo table ... a customer only read the "Rachel Ray" part of her sign, walked up and took a small handful of dog food, thinking it was "people" food and ate it. I was laughing my ass off all day.

DH came home with a bag of her doggie treats for the dog. When I made noise about the purchase, he looked at me blankly, shrugged his shoulders and said he had no idea who Rachel Ray was. She appears to be a genuine animal lover, which I won't complain about, but sheesh.....

I'd be more impressed if she used her food smarts to jazz up, say, MRE's or something useful.

There have been a couple of topics on this food here on SE back when it was first being announced.
I think it is great some proceeds go to animal rescue, but it is not high quality food by any means. At least it is not made in China though.
All I can say is I hope she sticks to dog food and never does cat.

the main issue with her food was the onion/garlic usage, so i wouldnt give them the beef grill bites... although its probably safer than the snacks most people feed their dogs. to me, its the principal.

au contraire mon frere... I think it is right up RR's alley to cook dog food, I've been saying she has been cooking dog food for years!

Maybe she can do 30 minute meals on the Animal Planet channel...

hey, at least she's donating some $$$ for rescues .....

what is bobby, paula and mario doing for the doggies?

I just hope she is adding the right amount of, "EVOO!"

At least she's not eating dogs.

@Pavlov - Right on! lol...

If RR is cooking up dog chow these days, what do you suppose Sandra Lee is making? Weasel kibble?
