Wow! My brother called us on Saturday night to tell us that he is now officially engaged, and I am more than thrilled for him! The trouble is that, since he is being deployed back to Iraq in August, they plan on getting married before he leaves, and at this point, it will likely be over Memorial Day Weekend in Seattle.
Now, being the family of the groom, we have less work, but we are hosting the rehearsal dinner (only about 25 people will attend the wedding - total) and I would love to know if there are any *reasonably-priced* places in Seattle at which to host it. My family is pretty meat and potatoes, and so is hers, so something pretty "standard" would be great.
Also, I know that Duff Goldman learned a lot from a person in Seattle who does wacky cakes. My gift to them (since they have everything else), I hope, is going to be a really fun groom's cake in the style of what Duff does. Trouble is, I haven't the foggiest idea who that person in Seattle is and where their bakery is. Does anyone know?
