Growing up I watched all of the PBS cooking shows. It was mostly because I didn't have cable, but I was also quite interested in food even then. Today, after about a year of having cable (for the first time in my life- and I'm twenty-four), I was able to watch Ming Tsai's cooking show. He still has his "master recipe" schtick, which doesn't really interest me, but his plastic knives caught my attention.
Does anyone know what I'm talking about? They're amazing! They looked like cheap, large, white plastic knives, but they cut through tomatoes seamlessly and he even used them to chop olives and carve a roasted chicken!
I was amazed that these cheap-looking instruments worked so well. Who makes them and where can I get one?
