omitting salt if using salted butter: OK to do?
I didn't have unsalted butter on hand for a cookie recipe this weekend and so used the salted, but left out the 1 tsp salt it called for because I figured enough of it was already in the butter. Is this ok to do ordinarily? What will not having quite enough salt do in a recipe? (btw, there was 1 tsp baking soda in the recipe, too, and I added it obediently.)
