Any suggestions for a French/Italian restaurant near Grand Central in NYC that is (a) moderately-priced or (b) still offering the restaurant month prix fixe dinner? Or both?

a few options right in the complex - Naples 47 and Cafe Centro (Italian).

Convivio is at 42nd St. in Tudor City, a five minute walk from Grand Central. Wonderful Italian restaurant with a too much to eat $59 4 course prix fixe menu. You can spend a lot less by having just an appetizer and a pasta. Michael White, the chef here, might be my favorite pasta cook in New York.
