Moffle Brunch
I am having a moffle brunch this Saturday and need some help. Moffles are mochi cooked in a waffle press. They come out in the shape of a waffle, and are super chewy and delicious.
I am going to serve them with a bunch of different toppings, like black sesame tahini with barley malt, peanut butter, chopped-up bananas, lemon and powdered sugar. . .
I was wondering if anyone had any other fun ideas for toppings??

mmm... nice idea for mochi, i haven't had it in years.... as for a topping, maybe some strawberries or raspberries or a combo of both.... yogurt ?

I haven't had moffles, but my favorite mochi toppings are kinako (ground toasted soy, you can substitute by toasting soy flour) with kuromitsu (you can sub by making a molasses+ sugar syrup).
Chocolate sauce may work too (esp with bananas).
Maybe it's just me, but if I remember correctly some acidic fruits taste bitter with mochi. I hope I'm wrong.
I'm so tempted to get a waffle maker just to try moffles!!

i was going to make some this weekend, too! i was thinking pandan or kaya. ginger syrup. mmm! black sesame butter (or your tahini + malt combo) sounds delish, too.

Get the waffle maker! They are so worth it. I like the acidic fruit idea! I am baking black sesame tahini as well!

Peanut sugar! Just whiz peanuts and sugar together in a food processor or coffee grinder.
And moffles sound so good..is there a particular kind of mochi used for moffles?
I dont think the soft, almost oozy Cantonese kind would work, nor would Korean style mochi...
Strawberry puree would taste good with warm mochi, I think...

Ice cream!!! Mochi and ice cream belong together.
