Kielbasa in NYC?
I used to get my kielbasa from Kurowycky Meat Market. Since they are closed I went to East Village Market. Is there any other place that you know of that is like Kurowycky's. Don't get me wrong, East Village is good but I miss that extra garlic that Kurowycky's had. Any help would be great.
Thanks.

I don't know if you want to go all the way out there, but have you tried Eagle Provisions (b/n 17th and 18th streets) or Jubilat Provisions (at 17th Street) on Fifth Avenue in Park Slope? I'd also refer you to Greenpoint, but because I can get good kielbasa at these two and they're closer to home, I haven't explored the Greenpoint Polish meat markets as much.

I second the Polish markets on Manhattan ave. in Greenpoint. They also have fresh (meaning not cured) pork belly for under $3 a pound. Mmmmm pork.

Adam, you read my mind! My family has been going to Jubilat for over 40 years. Kris, the owner, actually bought my grandmother's house when she moved out of Brooklyn. They're friendly, and the have the freshest and most authentic Polish meats in NYC. Definitely try the double-smoked kielbasas, and don't forget to get a big bag of Polish pickles. I make the trek from Astoria at least once a month, and I always have a kielbasa in my freezer for "emergencies".
Just a caution...don't go the Saturday before Easter unless you're willing to wait at least an hour!

The meat market on manhattan and greenpoint is phenom, and always crowded to the kills. recommend the blood sausage there too.

Baczynsky butcher on 9th and 2nd...that place is kick ass for kielbasa and all your butcher needs!
