Happy Pi day!

That's right it's 3.14 2009! Pi Day! To Celebrate, I'm baking a nice apple pie for dinner, and having pot pi for lunch. Anyone else celebrating this irational mathematical construct?

To makie it more useful, lets have some of your favourite Pie Ideas to see if we can't come up with something new to make for this day.

Neat! Hadn't really thought about it. I have math whiz kids, so they'll certainly like this idea. I'm roasting a chicken for dinner, so we may use the leftovers for pot pies tomorrow and celebrate a day late. One of my kids likes a cheddar biscuit top on his pot pie, the other likes a thick mashed potato top.
One thing I have done in the past with apple pie is to incorporate a bit of grated cheddar cheese into the crust. It gives it a bit of savory flavor that contrasts nicely with the apple filling.

I'm making coconut cream pie!

Well if you are in the "Pi Beta Phi sorority........I have one last slice of a yummy coconut cream pie left so I will have that.

I made apple-rhubarb pi(e). I cut a little pi symbol for the steam vent. :)

I so missed Pi Day this year. But last year, I made my first lemon pie! It turned out pretty well if I do say so myself.
