do you mean caracas in the east village/williamsburg? i've only ever gotten the arepas there (as opposed to their empanadas or other dishes), my favorite is the la del gato, i love the combination of plaintains and avocado. the de guasacaca is pretty good too (guacamole and cheese) and they have a corn salad thing that's a pretty big portion size and tasty.

The De Pabellon arepa. HANDS DOWN. The best. Soooo good. Was just there for the 2nd time and still was the best.
Here's the description:
shredded beef, black beans, white salty cheese and sweet plantains

I think I've tried every arepa there and the De Pabellon always wins as my favorite. It is consistently delicious. An explosion of wonderfulness! La Surena is good as well.

Agreed on the De Pabellon, though we recently did an arepa crawl in Williamsburg, and our favorite was La SureƱa: grilled chicken and garlicky-kapow chorizo with avocado slices and, as the menu states, "always enigmatic spicy chimi-churri sauce."

The tajadas (amazing plantains) and the arepa de pabellon! The papelon con limon drink is also good, and don't forget to try out their seriously delicious hot sauce!

The real key to success is getting the De Pabellon and modifying one of the pre-set arepas to create a well rounded meal of spicy, sweet and savory.
