Who knew I liked fennel?
For the longest time I've been saying that Idon't like fennel. Then yesterday, after testing a recipe for fennel salad I discovered that I was wrong!!!
What foods have you thought you did not like, only to discover that you actually liked them (or at least did not hate them)?

Shrimp - I was convinced up until about 6 months ago that I didn't like it. Then, after 10 years of being a vegetarian, my doctor made me start eating some meat. I began with fish and my SO gave me a shrimp to eat. The texture really grossed me out, but I tried again, and again, and over about 6 different evenings, I started loving those little buggers. Now I'm borderline obsessed (but HATE the rubbery overcooked shrimp some restaurants serve).

@littlestcapy, I always thought I hated shrimp too! Turns out, I just don't like shrimp cocktail, which is what my family always implored me to try when I told them I didn't like the stuff. In any other incarnation, I love it!
