What did you end up eating or serving for the Super Bowl?

I'll confess that I had a great time watching the game by myself in the comfort of my own tv room eating a grilled ham and cheese sandwich on 7 grain bread and some awesome leftover potato salad from Rack & Soul. For dessert I had one Newman's Own organic dark chocolate peanut butter cup. I think the peanut butter was safe because it was organic.

just did a nice dinner of pork chops stuffed with apples, sage and proscuitto, roasted butternut squash with thyme, and champ potatoes. not exactly superbowl fare but good.

I made guacamole, queso dip, potato chip-chocolate chip cookies, and blondies with white chocolate chips, bittersweet chocolate chips, milk chocolate chips, and butterscotch chips.

I was a cooking fool, cooking enough food for 25 when there was only 4 of us. I made smoked gouda mac & cheese, avacado salsa, jalapeno popper dip, amazing sliders on Pretzel rolls, big green olives encased in a cheese mixture and baked, and chip and dip cookies. (cookies made with crushed chips and pretzels dipped in chocolate) Leftovers anyone?

I sat down with a bowl of leftover chicken and dumplings minus the chicken, and watched the puppy bowl, I particularly enjoyed the kitten half time show, where there was nary a nipple in sight. ;-)

Wife made a baked Zitti from the recipe out of Cook Illustrated.....simpley awsome!!!

A friend and I watched together and ate chili cheese dogs. I hadn't had one of those in years, and honestly it tasted pretty damn good.

All of the food groups: hamburgers, hotdogs with chili and cheese, sauced chicken wings, pico de gallo, dips of all kinds, veggie tray, beer, chardonay, brownies, chocolate chip cookies. A traditional feast.

Son and DIL did fajitas, chicken and beef with grilled onions and poblanos, I had brined a pork tenderloin with chipotle chili powder and made a great tomatillo salsa (with BACON) from the Weber grill website. Others brought fresh salsas and guacamole and of course 7 layer dip. I made homemade Almond Joy candy (Alton Brown) and Chocolate Toffee Cookies (Epicurious). As it turned out, everything on the menu was homemade!

I was at a party w/about 25 other people. I made jalapeno popper dip & baked onion dip to go along w/the chicken wing dip, dill dip w/bread, taco dip & homemade salsa that others brought. I also made macaroni salad to go w/the deli platters the host put out. There was also roast beef, chili, and shrimp scampi. Certainly an eclectic spread.....I don't think there were many leftovers though!
Oh yea...2 types of brownies, pumpkin cake w/cream cheese frosting and store bought red velvet cake for dessert.

Went around the world. A nice tomato-basil topped bruschetta, Thai pork sate skewers, and Jerk shrimp skewers.

Sunday is my day to get a head start on dinners for the week, so we had lots of odds and ends and turned them into dinner. I roasted a chicken in the afternoon and shredded the dark meat for a BBQ chicken pizza (the bf's favorite, with spicy BBQ sauce, red onions, chicken, and fontina). The chicken breasts will reappear on a busy weeknight. I used the last of some homemade tomato sauce, along with the mushrooms, zucchini, and arthichokes leftover from a minestrone and a tuna salad, and made a veggie pizza for myself. We also had some guacamole (because I love it) and some white beans with cabbage and ham (because I made too much of it), all over the course of several hours. We're grazers.

God, that sounds like a terribly unappetizing combination... It was delicious!

Chicken salad, egg salad, croissants, assorted rolls, chicken fingers, fruit, brownies, pierogies, chicken-rice-veggie casserole, mexican cheese dip, chips. Ohhh my...soooo good. Oh yeah, the game was good too :)

@huney - I watched the puppy bowl too! Show me puppies any time, I'm there:-) I also watched the 3D trailer and the 12 minutes of Bruce Springsteen. Other than that, I was working (and whimpering, but that's another story).

I made wings, smoked sausage, caramelised onions and peppers, homemade rolls and potato salad - sadly, the only thing I could eat was potato salad as it required very minimal chewing.

The hosts have 2 sub franchises so they had 2 platters of sammies. I made what appears to be this year's hot ítem - jalapeño popper dip, and Amish friendship muffins, while hubby made some really good fire-roasted tomato salsa. There was also a mighty tasty beer-cheese dip.

I made a slow cooker pulled pork that was fabulous, plus wings cheesy potatoes, broccoli slaw, cookies and brownies, all washed down with iron city beer and/or "Phoenix" Margaritas. I'm new to hosting and this was my first big party where I did all the cooking. I was very happy with how it all turned out on my freshman run.

Frozen tortellini w/jarred sauce and frozen garlic bread.

I know! I

I was not in the mood to cook and really wanted to watch the game since I'm a HUGE Steelers fan. But it was getting late and our plans for fajitas were way too ambitious so we settled for something faster and easier. Fajitas are on the menu for tonight. Hopefully I'll feel more like cooking tonight!

Buffalo Chicken Dip and Baked Wings w/ 4 different sauces: BBQ, Teriyaki, Mild Wing Sauce and Chipolte in Adobo with Agave Nectar.

the usual easy crowd pleasing fare...wings,pot stickers, veggies and dip, fruit salad, black bean and chicken bake, chips, brownies and rice krispy treats.

It was my dad's birthday, he chose the menu, and it was quite tasty! I made a Prime Rib Roast with Horseradish Cream, Southern Style Green Beans, Broccoli Gratin, and Buttery Yellow Cake (America's Test Kitchen Family Baking Book) with chocolate buttercream frosting.

I must confess I did miss some game day eats such as bacon wrapped jalapenos, and cheeseballs, as well as anything mini, or able to be dipped!

As much as I should despise the Steelers (go Browns!) I had to be happy for MAC men (Harrison, Roethlisberger) , and OSU grad (Holmes) doing so well!

It was a questionable meats snack extravaganza at our house: meatballs, honey bbq and spicy wings, lil' smokey pigs in blankets, salumi and cheese, and a crave case of sliders. There was also popper dip(holy crap was that popular), the obligatory veggie tray, and mini-eclairs.

Stuffed jalapenos, fresh salsa, Ruebens that were amazing, and a few other snackies.

- Popcorn w/ black pepper and parmesan cheese.
- herb crusted salmon burgers
- hagen daz vanilla fudge/rum raisin ice cream

southwestern chicken tenders w/ two dips- honey jalapeno dip and creamy cilantro chipotle dip; classic buffalo wings (in the oven); guacamole, salsa, and chips; cheese & crackers; bratwurst w/ an assortment of heinz condiments

Having gorged myself for 3 days on Stone Crab, I was satisfied with a little white cheddar popcorn.

leftover turdunken sandwiches (hot or cold) depending on the person.
Lobster and regular mashed potatoes
Gravy and stuffing
dips of varieous sorts and chips
steamed brussels sprouts
cranberry sauce
corn
spinach salad
raspberry pie with whipped cream on top

cooked too much as always. but it was awesome. breakdown of menu:
nachos
guac
chili
hot dogs (which were made into chili dogs)
eclairs
cupcakes
i'll be eating miso soup and fruit this week....

I was at a party with a couple dozen other football fans, watching on a giant screen. I brought recipe-girls peanut butter cup brownies...to die for! Unfortunately everybody else brought pedestrian, ho-hum stuff. Frozen this, overcooked that. Leathery chicken wings, cream cheese blocks with jelly dumped on top. Boxes of crackers...like saltines. Cubes of cheese. The brownies were a huge hit. They were the only sweet. Had to eat leftovers when we got home. We were hungry!

I made the pork belly sandwiches I saw earlier in the week. And we bought the 50-nugget pack from McDonald's. Toss in Newman's Own bean and corn salsa with chips and a few beers (Blue Moon, Miller Lite, and Sam Adams), and you've got a party.

pizza! 3 of em...
1 with pizza sauce, mozz, yellow pepper, onion, mushroom, spinach
1 "mexican" style with fresh salsa, cheddar, jalepenos, onion, sour cream
1 plain-ish (used the odds and ends that were left over from the others)

i wish i made dessert pizza, but just made brownies instead.

to start: Bloody Marys, wine, assorted dips from co-op with organic chips and popcorn.
dinner was nice green salad made with butter lettuce, chicken curry with hot mango chutney, cashews, broiled coconut, broccoli florets. desert: assorted homemade cookies and chocolate ice cream. Best of all, good company!

A friend from Buffalo, NY was in town, so she whipped a few local treat: chicken finger subs slathered with bleu cheese spread. Yummy!

Red Leicester cheese, crackers and guac and blue corn chips before an adventure out to Marco's (Denver, CO) for my birthday dinner of coal fired pizza. happy superbowbirthday to me!

We hosted a party for my husband's staff. My husband virtually did all the work. He smoked pork butts and ribs. Lovely. Made a gazillion buffalo wings with blue cheese and ranch dressings...oh that was good blue cheese dressing...lots of blue cheese chunks. And to round things out, con queso cheese sauce, chips and salsa, baked beans, bean dip, coleslaw for the bbq pork, buns, beer, and wine. And a few dirty martinis. Wanted to make the PW's bacon wrapped cream cheese jalepenos, but ran out of time. I ran the football pool.

wow, I was feeling so cliched and uncreative for having made chili, but it seems that not many of us did! I had this great menu planned: Cuban sandwiches, chicken drumsticks, homemade salsa, but then all but one guest bailed on me so I made my husband's favorite chili. and it was darn good (i throw in some bulgur - adds to the meaty texture w/o adding more beef)

I made Lit'l Smokies, chex mix, and an apple crumble (King Arthur recipe) with ice cream too.

Leftover salad because I was studying :(

It was just.my husband and myself. I baked some chicken drumsticks with a cherry bourbon sauce and served it with some couscous & cranberries. For dessert, we had blueberry pie. Not quite Superbowl food.

Veggie enchiladas with green chile sauce, deviled eggs, a bag of Doritos and a bag of Double Stuff Oreos.

Bacon-wrapped stuffed jalapenos, That football field posted here earlier made with fresh pico de gallo, jarred queso, homemade guac and the requisite beef jerky goal posts. Potachos, smoked sausage, baked beans, guacamole coleslaw and marshmallow-peanut butter brownies. And we also had jello shots--red and yellow. Yellow won.

hey everybody-i miss you guys...never get a chance to get on here anymore...sigh. anyway, awesome party last night for my steelers...had loaded potato skins, hot spinach-artichoke dip, chocolate chip cookies, fresh salsa and chips, a layered dessert of alternating fudge pudding, silver dollar pancakes, and french vanilla pudding, pierogies, iron city beer and rolling rock. (couldn't get yuengling, unfortunately...)

Guac, Buffalo wing dip, salsa, bean dip, sour cream and a bunch of stuff to dip into them all. My friend brought over a double crust apple pie and some mint brownies. Oh and caramel ice cream on the pie, I could hardly make it to the 4th quarter for that. MMMMM

For four of us it was WAY too much food and it was all junk, which is the best way to celebrate the Superbowl.

I made tortas, Mexican sub,a wheat Bolillo(this is a small version of french bread) with refried beans, carnitas (pork), avocado, sour cream and Queso Fresco ( a crumble cheese similar to feta). And Fresh fruit for dessert. It was just my bf a friend and myself.

The roommates and I hosted a party. We made chili- both vegetarian and meat-based for our "main course". For snacks we had tortilla chips (store bought) and homemade salsa, spinach dip, pepperoni bread (and veggie pepperoni bread), cheese bread with marinara dipping sauce, and cheese and crackers. For dessert I made Cardinals and Steelers-themed cupcakes which we served with ice cream.

Guests also ended up bringing goodies and we had waaay too much food. But in a good way : )

Ended up snowboarding until halftime, so it was take-out burritos from my favorite spot. Was worth it because no one was on the mountain!
I'm looking forward to eating my leftover burrito nub when I get home, but wondering how to heat it up. I don't have a microwave. Would the toaster oven work, or should I just eat it cold?

Pulled pork sandwiches, antipasto, garlic stuffed olvies, chips and dip.

I served items form my Superbowl Snack-a-thon at:
http://savorthethyme.blogspot.com/

Huge grill out: chicken, shrimp, scallops, dove, quail, 4 kinds of pork, 5 kinds of beef, stuffed jalepenos, bacon wrapped shrimp with cheese & jalepenos, an ENTIRE baby pig, o yeah, and a huge spicy pot of boiled crawfish. I love Texas in February!!

Ate way too much! I made crunchy jalapeno bites, jalapeno cream cheese filled wontons, seven layer dip and pizza bites. Ohhh they were so good, but I probably should've paced myself a little better, I was still full this morning when I woke up. :)

I made the cutest sugar cookies with royal icing for my friends super bowl party. I made red and white helmets for the Cardinals, black and yellow helmets for the Steelers and little footballs with laces. They turned out super cute!

link,

I was invited to a potluck party, so I made a pot of homemade chili, red velvet mini-cupcakes and the blue-cheese bacon dip featured on SE a couple days ago - all came out fantastic.

But, I was SO disappointed, cause I loooove seven layer dip, and I kept thinking "well, I won't waste my time/money making that, surely someone will bring a seven layer dip. it's practically super bowl religion." Well... no seven layer dip. :( Like most of the people here, I don't eat stuff like that very often, so I was really looking forward to a one-day indulgence. Bummer.

Corn dip with Frietos. It was just me so I didn't have to share.

Ugh! I made heart attack pizza and drank cheap wine. I can still feel it today, 24 hours later.

I went over to a friends house and I made the Cincinnati Chili from Cook's Illustrated, pasta to serve it over, and also made the CI cornbread to accompany it. It was ready to go by the beginning of the second half.

I went over to a friends house and I made the Cincinnati Chili from Cook's Illustrated, pasta to serve it over, and also made the CI cornbread to accompany it. It was ready to go by the beginning of the second half. Oh, and we each had one of the Trader Joe's cups of exotic chocolate ice cream from the pack of four different ones for dessert.

I made a Chicago deep dish pizza and my hubby said it tasted almost as good as Giordanos (this is high praise).

Steak chili that had been cooking for hours, corn bread, Oreo fudge cookie brownies, and grapefruit and peach (from home canned peaches) martinis.

Pittsburgh is our hometown and now we live near Tampa so we attended an awesome tailgate party right down the street from the stadium. There was a variety of food but I took two dishes of Robin's (Big Red Kitchen) Jalapeno Popper Dip and three dozen hungarian sausages from Geir's German Market.

They like the Steelers, but they LOVED me~~!! They ate everything and almost licked the bowls!

Nothing, we had dinner at 5:30. My husband is superstitious and he thinks we will lose if we have food out during the game.

bobcatsteph3, I'm glad to hear your happy for our boys. I hope the Browns are in the Super Bowl someday, good luck with the new coach. Our new coach won the Super Bowl!

Went to a party at a friends house-I brought jalapeno popper dip and got rave reviews. There was also a crockpot of sloppy joes, a really good tossed salad with some grilled chicken and beets, wings, spinach dip, bbq meatballs and brownies. Doesn't sound like much when it's all written out but the table was full and so were we! This was the second party in 2 weeks that I brought the popper dip-it was the first thing gone both times.

Went to a party at a gloriously palacial home - unfortunately owned by two non-foodies. The hostess could not find her way around a baked pasta - it was mushy and tasteless. Luckily, a guest brought baby back ribs that were TDF. I brought Nutella Brownies - Definitely a high point.

Regardless of the bad food, we had a great time and it was good to meet some of our neighborhood-mates.

~~therealchiffonade: Nutella Brownies, you say? Can ya point me to a recipe?

Doritos and wine.
