What Burger place should I try next in NY?

Hi, I have just started visiting this site, mainly AHOT, and I have enjoyed reading everything I have come across. Because of this site for the past 3 Saturdays I have brought my wife to:

Hildebrants
Shake Shake
All American Drive-In .

Where should I go next? We have been to Bobbys Burger Palace, American Roadside Burgers, Tara Inn, and Gourment Burger Bistro.

Most of the place we go are in Suffolk County but the foray (1.5 hour drive) into the city has been made for the mecca called Shake Shack.

Anybody have any suggestions for Long Island? If we do drive into NYC what will make the trip worth it?

Thanks

These places are great for burgers in NYC (my opinion of course):

JG Melon (UES)
PJ Clarkes (Midtown East)
Corner Bistro (Greenwich Village)

You have to go to the hamburger place in the Parker Meriden hotel. It is on W 57th st. Not alot of room but the line moves quickly. You won't need to eat the rest of the day if you have a burger and fries!!!

Also, an old favorite is Prime Burger near St. Patricks.

Corner Bistro is EXCELLENT as Jacquie says, but I believe the best burger in NYC to be found at The Burger Joint inside the Parker Meridien Hotel, 119 W. 56th Street. Go in the doors, look past the front desk on the left and you'll see a glowing neon burger.
check out the no frills menu here: http://www.parkermeridien.com/eat4.php

Be prepared for a LONG wait at the Corner Bistro if you go on a Friday or Saturday evening. On the upside, the line is alongside the bar, so you can at least get a drink or two while you wait.

burger joint at le parker meridien for a great solid burger (as mentioned above) - just follow your nose!
the irving mill by union square - their burger is juicy, fatty and super flavorful. my favorite in nyc so far
city burger for the black label burger - they use a special blend by pat la frieda (same meat purveyor that shake shack uses)
the spotted pig

Thanks all for all the tips. We are planning to go the Parker Meridien next!

If your going to have one burger in NYC, it has to be from the Spotted Pig.

I would avoid PJ Clarkes like the plague.

of the best nyc burgers my top ten are in this order:

1. shake shack, washington square park
2. jg melon's, upper east side
3. burger joint @ the parker meridien, midtown
4. irving mill burger, near union square
5. resto burger, gramercy
6. pj clarke's, midtown location
7. blt burger, west village
8. stand burger, west village
9. corner bistro, west village
10. spotted pig (because i don't like the rogerfort cheese too much)

i also enjoyed the burger at market table (a la frieda blend), soup & burger, veselka, and paul's. haven't tried the black label blend at city burger yet... that's next on my list.

my favorites of the regional chain restaurants would be five guys (with a location in levitown, long island), fat tuesday's, houston's, and johnny rockets.

@chuck: thanks for the list. Living out east on LI it is going to take me awhlie to hit every one but I am up to the challenge.

I might have to try five guys in the meantime.

I am hinting at my wife to go to city burger for my b-day to try the black label blend.

@Chuck: Thanks for making me aware that there is a 5 guys in levittown. We went to 5 guys last night and it was pretty good. And I got a pair of sneakers at DSW next door for $11 !
