I have never been able to find anyone else with this "malady" and I have never been told any possible reasons why this occurs. I get a terrible headache along with dizziness when I am in close proximity to garlic. The biggest culprit is raw garlic, i.e. a recent encounter with freshly made Peruvian green sauce caused me to leave work for the afternoon. While raw garlic seems particularly noxious to me, the smell of sauteeing garlic is also a problem, but to a lesser extent. For this reason, I do not use any fresh garlic in my cooking, only granulated garlic. I have no similar reactions to any other food, so I am really at a loss for an explanation. Has anyone else experienced this? Any idea of the cause?
