Good places to eat in Boston area
Hi all,
My dad and I are scheduled to visit the Boston area March 6-9. I would appreciate any dining suggestions. Thank you.
Bryce

Tresca on Hanover St. in the North End. Upscale Italian.

I'm from NY but I frequent Boston alot--there are alot of great places especially at Feneuil Hall/Quincy Markeplace..(not too far from airport)During the day go inside to Quincy Markeplace--lots of little great eateries-anything from grabbing a quick snack at the kiosks to sit down eateries to full scale restaurants...At Quincy Marketplace---little kiosks in a small confined area with top scale food--every nationality from Greek, Chinese, Thai, Korean, a great B-B-Q place too with the best ribs (about 5 different kinds of ribs) and outside is a gazillion different little sit down eateries, depending what you're in the mood for...
@ssmom gave a great suggestion too...dont forget to either go to Mike's pastry where you will always see a line out the door (good pastries but more hype) or Modern Bakery--(more authentic than Mikes but great too!)
The best thing is everything is in the confines of one area-all you need is a good map and everything is walkable..Boston also has the "trolley rides" throughout the city...The ONLY thing I wouldn't recommend are the pubs...I haven't been in a pub yet where I've enjoyed the food...Don't forget the seafood places--Although it's commercial, I prefer Legal Seafood -right along the wharf....(near Quincy Marketplace) and since you're near the water, you will always get fresh tasty seafood !
You can look up Quincy Markeplace on web and see what suits you! I hope this helps!

I enjoyed Figs in the lovely Beacon Hill section...eccentric East Coast Grill in Cambridge...and flashy Blue Ginger, chef Ming Tsai's home base in Wellesley. All have websites...

Avoid bartleys--crowded seating(remember your junior high school cafeteria?), noisy environment, and definitely NOT the best burger you'll ever have. Oh, and should I forget the rude servers? no, definitely not--you will literally get your food slapped down in front of you.
