Going to Portland OR tomorrow!
I already have a pretty good idea of where to eat. What I'm really interested in finding are TRUFFLES! They are in season right now, does anyone here know of any shops in the city that will be selling them? Also, I've heard you guys have some pretty amazing local cheeses, made from grass fed cows. Any recommendations? Last, I know nothing about Oregon wines, and would like to visit a winery. I won't have a ton of time, since I will be also spending a couple days snowboarding, but, if I had to choose one winery to go to within an hour or so of the city, which one would be the best one to go to? What is considered the top of Oregon wine? I know I'm asking a lot, I appreciate all your suggestions. Thank you!

Arggh, had to change my plans for work reasons, now leaving in two weeks, on the 19th... Still, your suggestions are welcome, this just gives me more time for research :)

*Ancient Heritage Dairy cheese--you can find it at New Seasons markets around town. I don't think they have it yet, but their feta is To.Die.For.
*If you want sort of a "commercial"-type winery, Sokol Blosser is the place to go. Good wine with excellent views from their vantage point atop a hill in the Willamette Valley countryside. For a smaller place, I'd recommend Lange (pronounced like it would be if it had no E). It's in a pretty remote spot in the hills, but their wine is killer.
Not sure about the truffles. There are many locally owned markets around town, such as New Seasons, Zupan's, Market of Choice, as well as many cheese/specialty food stores, like Steve's Cheese, Foster & Dobbs, Pastaworks and Little Green Grocer, that may have truffles available.
Where are you planning to eat? I'm always curious what out-of-towners hear about our fair city.

If you drink beer skip the wine and hit the brewpubs.

I am not the original poster, but I am going to Portland this weekend from San Francisco. We have reservations at Le Pigeon on Sunday night and we are having a late lunch at Clyde Common on Friday afternoon. Looking forward to both of them. If someone chimes in with where Oregon truffles can be had, we will definitely try some of those.

there is an exhaustive map of breakfast places as well as links to some of the best eats in pdx.
for wine, definitely check out noble rot. i used to work with the gm at le pigeon who is a wine genius, so they have a lovely list (not necessarily local wines, but good). pok pok, the farm, simpatica, and pambiche are all must-eats. also a fan of staccato gelato.
