DC area restaurant week
I'm visiting the washington dc area during restaurant week, and have never really explored the dining scene. Any recomendations? Something with a vegetarian option, but other than that, flexible in the type of food....

PS7 has never let me down & has loads of options. Oya and Art & Soul are on my list too.

Ditto on PS7. I've also enjoyed Bistro Bis, but I'm not sure how many veggie options they have. They did have an awesome brunch option with non-meat options when I went though.

Vegetate is supposed to be promising.

About Vegetate - I've heard that it can be hit or miss. I can vouch for the sliders, though. It has a nice happy hour, too.

I'm a huge fan of Dino's, they have some good vegetarian options and as a bonus they offer the resteraunt week deal on every week night and annother 24 dollar deal on certain dishes if you order before 7.

Amsterdam Falafel on 18th street...you order falafel and then you select what salad and sauce you want from a bar on the side. Required after a night drinking in Adams/Morgen (Toledo Lounge was always my favourite).
I used to really like The Diner on 18th as well...great grilled cheese and fries.
With a big Salvadoran population, look for anywhere serving Empanadas. There's usually a veggie option.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if you haven't made reservations somewhere yet, you may not get them anywhere. I called places the second day after the list was announced and 2 out of three were booked for dinner every day that week =/.
Bistro Bis' sister restaurant Vidalia is a good option, and I do remember them having a highly acclaimed vegetarian dish or two on there last year. But you can definitely call and see if veggie options are available at any restaurant.
This website I found particularly helpful because it aggregated some of the menus from restaurant week sites:
http://www.dcfoodies.com/2009/01/dc-winter-restaurant-week-just-a-taste-to-get-you-started.html
It also has the most up to date info on restaurant week (including places that are extending the deal past than that one week).

LOVE, love, love Amsterdam Falafel!
I've eaten at Vegetate several years ago and really liked it.
PS7 had great food last year, but I'm not sure about their vegetarian options.
This time, I think I'm only going to go to one lunch: Couer De Lion. Have never heard of it, but my friend made reservations, so I'll see how it is.
