Any recommendations?

Blue Moon Cafe!
Blue Moon!!

Saw it on Guy's Big Bite, had to try it last time I was in Baltimore, was definitely worth the trip!

D'oh! I saw it on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives...but yeah, one of those Guy shows...

Where in Baltimore?

If you're in the Charles Village area, Carma's and One World are both great. Gertrude's (in the BMA) is good for brunch, too.

Blue moon gets my vote, but depending on when you go, you may have up to a two hour wait- I'd go as early as you can- there is usually not a wait at 7-8 am.

The Morning Edition is also good, but the service is sloooooow.

MUST go to Cafe Hon! On The Avenue in Hampden. Google it. When I lived there it was the essential Bawlmer place to go.

No to Blue Moon - the two times I've been there, the food was really greasy and left me and everyone else I ate with feeling totally nauseated the rest of the day. Twice! So it wasn't just a one time fluke.

YES to Golden West. Though there is often a wait, the service has actually improved recently - last time I went, our server was incredibly nice and attentive, which is more than I can say for everyone else I've interacted with there in the past (paging Ben on Ace of Cakes...). And oh yeah - the food is great!

ATWATERS!! In Belvedere Square (near the Senator Theater off York & Northern Pkwy) or Kenilworth Station in Towson (the latter is only open Mon - Sat) their weekend brunch is fantastic. Limited menu, but so good. Local, fresh ingredients. (their lunch/dinner food is likewise fantastic.)

Also, there's a little bagel shop a few doors down from the Atwaters in Belvedere Square that is excellent, if you are a fan of bagels (my New Yorker husband approves of them, so they've got to be doing something right) I *think* it's called Greg's Bagels, but I'm not positive about that. But since you're a foodie you have to hit Belveder Square on principle, so just amble up a few doors on your way to Daedalus Books and you'll find the bagels.

Gertrude's and OneWorld are both great; beware though, OneWorld is completely vegetarian (if not vegan -- I think it might be vegan). I'd avoid any of the Donna's, because the wait can be long and the food is mediocre; not necessarily bad, but not as good as it should be for the price. I have to, have to, HAVE TO recommend Paper Moon, though -- it's the most cracked out, amazing diner-style place in the area. (It's also within walking distance -- I'm talking like two blocks -- of Charm City Cakes=D.) Pete's Grille -- where Michael Phelps used to go in high school -- also supposedly has great brunch, but I've never been there myself.

Miss Shirley's in Roland Park. There's also one in the Harbor now too, but I haven't been to that one yet. Really great food!!

I second the vote for Paper Moon. I've never had anything there I didn't LOVE!

If you are downtown, try the Sunday brunch at Hull Street Blues. It's a tiny place but worth the wait for a table and the close quarters with your fellow diners.
