Bowling Alley Food: Way or No Way?
I remember the best hamburger was at the bowling alley! Crispy edges on a toasted buttery bun, succulent meat, melty cheese all topped with lettuce and pickles. Freezer fries, beer, and cigarette smoke on the side. Us new Wii players have decided that this memory has resulted in new and better bowling alleys, but we still want the old taste. How bout that, seriouseaters, have you seen a resurgence of bowling in your town since the invention of the Wii bowling? (even the Pres plays it!)

I don't understand the appeal of Wii. Why not actually do the activities you're pretending to do?
Anyhow, I spent loads of time at a bowling alley when I was growing up. You see, I was a huge nerd and was on a bowling league when I was about nine or so. I DO remember the food and I'm going to have to give it a big WAY. The burgers were what burgers were supposed to be; everything you described and more. My two favorites though were the nachos with extra pickled jalapenos and the chili cheese fries. After our games, my best friend and I would hit the snack bar, stuff our faces with delicious junk, and then hang out in the arcade and tease the boys we had crushes on. It was awesome.

No way. I read a study once on the amount of (ahem..sorry) fecal matter found inside the holes of those bowling balls. Nope no way.

Way.
I just make sure I don't touch the food with my dirty bowling-ball-holding hands. But that's what napkins and forks are for.

I love WII bowling ! Regarding the food at our local AMF - no way -- too many ongoing Health Inspection demerits.

The old bowling alleys rocked! It was the whole atmosphere: the smoke the crappy food the lax ID policies : ) and just hang out with friends. Oh yeah, we bowled once in awhile.

Way. I remember the kitchen not being too busy, so snacks were made to order. Piping hot fries and a hot dog, please!

I don't like eating food in the bowling alley for two reasons: 1. It's usually pretty mediocre in quality and taste. 2. My hands are dirty from the bowling ball!
No way for me.

I only know one bowling alley - the one my mother had her bowling ball and shoes kept at. She's been gone for ~15 years...I wonder if it's still there. We would go once every few years and it was always there.
I'd eat and she'd play. The food was homestyle at the one we went to. I'd order the tonkatsu there. The guy who taught my mother to bowl would eat pork chops or tonkatsu there every day. He was a skinny local Japanese guy who worked at Pearl Harbor during WWII and we found out later that he was dying from some asbestos thing that was commonly used in shipyards. He was told that under no circumstances was he to indulge in pork chops and similiar stuff (don't know exactly why), but he would have it there every day even after he retired from teaching. That's hardcore.

Way! The bowling alley in my town is also home to one of the best pizza places around. I'm there almost every Sunday for $10 pizza special, $12 pitcher special, and $6 for 2 games and shoes!

I loved the bowling alley food...but I also made it. From when I was 16 -19 I worked on and off at the snack bar pouring beers, making burgers, and loading up pizzas. It was too much fun!

bowling...I love it and WAY on the food...greasy chili cheese fries, hot dogs, hamburgers, NACHOS! Hell yes. just make sure you bring hand sanitizer because you dont want to be touching food after handling bowling balls and shoes touche by thousands of other people with questionable hand washing habits...
