Where should I eat in Buffalo, NY?

Hello all,

I'm traveling right this very moment on a bus to Buffalo, NY...wondering if anyone knows the best places to dine up there. From fancy to frugal to BAKED GOODS, let me know! I'm up for anything.

Thanks!
Lisa

Anchor Bar. Buffalo Wings.

I'd only go to the Anchor Bar for wings if you want to do the tourist thing. If you want really good wings, go to Gabriel's Gate on Allen St. In fact, you can't go wrong eating your way up & down Allen St.....from The Falafal Bar, and K Gallagher's on the upper end near Main St. to Quaker Bonnet further down, and Sample, Lagniappes and the Allen St. Hardware at the other end. (Allen St. is only a mile or so long). At Allen & Elmwood sits Sweet Tooth....great pastries there. You could then head north on Elmwood and continue to sample some of the best the city has to offer...from Cozumel for Mexican, Bistro Europa for Eastern European, Tabree for French bistro, Louie's for hot dogs...the list is endless!
Here is a great link to all things gastronomic in Buffalo:

Don't forget to hit Wegmans & Premier Gourmet too!
Are you here for vacation?

Thanks for the suggestions! I'm here visiting a few friends.

Good sugestions above, dont forget Panos on Elmwood and its open very late. I'm sure your friends will know where to go. Have fun and enjoy, I hope you are wearing the snow boots.

Definitely Anchor Bar if you want to do the tourist thing and say that you had wings there. I went with my wife and we were like they taste like this everywhere else. Order a medium or above since a mild is pretty much just butter sauce.

Make sure to try Beef on Weck! Western NY is the only place you can find it.
