Grocery Stores or Farmers' Markets near Smith Lake in Alabama?

I'm sure this is pointless, but I thought I'd try anyhow:

My boyfriend and I are renting a cabin on Smith Lake in March. I've never been to Smith Lake in Alabama, but apparently it's huge. We'll be staying in Crane Hill, AL, though I guess the lake goes through multiple cities/counties.

I'm kind of freaking out because I wanted to cook him a bunch of meals, but both he and I are pretty unfamiliar with the area. Actually, I don't know anything about it because I've never been there- hell, I've never even seen a lake. He went there as a kid, but doesn't remember the surrounding area very well.

I've tried looking online, but it hasn't been very helpful. I have a huge, detailed grocery list and I'm concerned that I won't be able to find everything I need at the small, local markets. The woman we're renting from said that there are small shops around where we can pick up grocery basics, but other than that we'd have to drive well out of the area to get what we need.

So, has anyone been to Smith Lake? Do you know of an awesome grocery store or farmer's market in the area? And even if you haven't been, does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can successfully find everything on my list given my limited options?

Thanks in advance!

you're not too far from mountain brook Alabama which is where a whole foods is. Aside from that you are in a barren wasteland of foreboding doom and dispair. But at least you are sailing a yacht through it... There is a farmers market on finley ave, in B'ham... the yuppy crowd go to pepper place. Go to Finley ave. for produce and assorted provisions. Bon Chanc!

The USDA has a farmers market search tool that might be useful. Other tools are localharvest.org and the Eat Well Guide.
