Polish Food in Greenpoint, Brooklyn?
Happy Friday!
How is it that someone with an "-ski" last name has not been to Greenpoint for Polish food after 2.5 years in Brooklyn? You tell me. Or rather, can you recommend some restaurants to patronize for the most delicious, authentic Polish food way up top in Brooklyn? My friend and I are finally hopping the G train tonight.
Thanks!
Lisa

Krolewskie Jadlo! It's at 694 Manhattan Ave in GP, and ohhhhh the goodness that will transpire! The food is outstanding, really inexpensive, and made fresh by a some little babcis in the tiny kitchen. It's not your typical Polish hole in the wall---the decor is great, and it's bright and clean. I love the pickle soup (don't knock until you've tried it!), the bigos, and the pork cutlet with mushrooms. The Polish plate is also a great choice. My boyfriend and I are both Polish, and we trek down from Astoria whenever we're too lazy to make our own Polish feast.
It's also a lot of fun to walk down Manhattan Ave after you eat, especially because Polish food isn't light! There's a great candy store a few streets down that only sells Polish treats, and there are lots of little shops to check out. Everyone on the treat speaks Polish (even in the Starbucks!), and it feels just like being at home.
I hope you check it out!
