NPR Report: Penn State Supplies Ice Cream for Inaugural Gala
In case you didn't catch it, NPR reported that "BaRocky Road," "Obama White House," and "BidenBerry" are the ice cream flavors that will be served.

Hmm. Confusing. It seems that the Pennsylvania Inaugural Gala will be serving these flavors . . . which may or may not be an "official" inaugural ball. I'll check on this later.

Hey, no worries. I'm THE worst typist and I may have correct my topic heading. Anyway, yes, I've probably eaten a ton of PSU Creamery ice cream. Spent four happy years in University Park, PA.
So, I couldn't wait and I checked the and NPR to see what's what. The CDT makes it sound like the Creamery's ice cream is going to Obama's official Gala. But NPR has nothing on this story . . . making me think that it was our local Pittsburgh NPR station newsperson that repeated the same news reported by the CDT. Not sure. In any case, I want to try those flavors!

Whichever, kudos to Penn State. I hear their ice cream is incredible and the program has spawned many a successful career in the food industry, as well as in agriculture. No wonder their grads are so proud! We need more than accountants and stockbrokers in this world.

I love the Creamery. Only was at Penn State for 1 week of sports camp, but we loved heading there after practice. That was atleast 10 years ago, and I still remember how great the icecream was.
I can figure out BaRocky Road, but whats Bidenberry and Obama White House?

That is so awesome that everyone knows about good old PSU Creamery ice cream (and PSU itself!). I grew up here and now attend the university. I actually read about the ice cream today in The Collegian (our university paper) and from my understanding, it seems like the Creamery is making special ice cream flavors to be served at the PA Inauguration Ball, which will occur in DC on the same night as Obama's Inauguration. When Obama visited PSU last Spring, I think he did stop at the Creamery, but I don't think they are actually serving up Creamery Ice Cream at the White House. Too bad though, because it is divine!!
Bidenberry is a vanilla ice cream mixed with a raspberry swirl, and the White House flavor has marachino cherries in it.
Admittedly, I've lived here for 19 years now, but I bet I've only been to the Creamery a dozen times over the years. I do love their Coffee Frozen Yogurt though, and it's worth a stop if any of you are ever driving through central PA!!
