Looking For a Korean Fried Chicken Recipe?

I love these, but I'm not near a korean fried chicken restaurant. I think these would be awesome for the super bowl. Does anyone have a good recipe?

I 2nd the recipe as well.

Hey! I'm Korean!

Sadly, I can only tell you how to fry chicken the Southern way. I was adopted when I was 4 months old and have lived in the glorious South ever since.

Man. That was anti-climactic.

I have a very old "Hawaii Cookbook & A Backyard Luau" by Elizabeth Ahn Toupin and this is her recipe for South Korean fried chicken.

1 frying chicken, cut up
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons sesame oil or salad oil
1 clove garlic, minced
4 stalks scallions, chopped
1 teaspoon MSG, optional

Combine all ingredients, except chicken, and mix well.
In Hawaii, fryers are often marinated in this sauce for a half hour, then dipped into seasoned flour and fried in deep hot oil. Because the soy sauce marinade quickens the browning, you may pre-bake the chicken at 300 degree oven for 30 minutes, before deep frying. Sprinkle with salt
before serving.
This marinade is also used for Korean Short Ribs.
Hope you like this version. I do, a lot!
