Dried Cranberries: What Do You Do with Them?
I've used them in granola, cookies, muffins, quick breads, and cakes. What else can I do with them? Thanks!

White chocolate bark. Tossed in a salad is also nice. I prefer them to raisins in trail mix. They're also good in apple pie.

I like them in savory salads of all kinds, from with croutons on a garden salad to stirred into a quinoa salad.

- toss with raw pepitas and homemade granola for trail mix
- in cottage cheese muffins with fresh mint
- in salads (I like nuts, seeds, and dried fruit in salad)
- haven't yet ... but I want to use them as a mix-in for biscotti
- delicious snack all on their own

Where a normal person would use raisins. I hate raisins. Cranberries are okay, but dried cherries are even better.

Great in a salad with walnuts or toasted pine nuts...and wonderful in biscotti or shortbread cookies with hazelnuts or pecans!

totally with dbcurrie -- i hate raisins for reasons unknown and am known to sub dried cranberries in those cases. i love cranberries in salad with goat cheese. you can throw 'em in pancakes, or i imagine you could even use them in a more savory application with pork chops etc.

I toss mine in a yummy salad with arugula, candied pecans or walnuts, real bacon bits/pieces, red onion, grape tomatoes, blue cheese and balsamic vinegarette.
I also add mine to my cornbread stuffing -- I melt butter in the pan, saute a chopped up granny smith apple, a vidalia onion, and the cranberries in there; then add my stock, then add to the cornbread stuffing. Very tasty.

Aside from all the sweets already well mentioned, I like softening them in bourbon or vodka and rolling them with walnuts and goat cheese in a chicken breast or slice of pork loin pounded flat, with a little salt and pepper and sage or lemon thyme.
I like them in stuffings too, especially cornbread stuffings.
Chop them very fine and mix with soft cheeses and roll the cheese in nuts or cinnamon/other spice for a cheese ball. A splash of a fruity red wine is great in this too.
Use in baked apples or in the stuffing of baked squash or rutabaga.

Stir them into couscous with whatever else you have on hand...
And I love dried berries on salads...

Simple, but I mix them with really good unsalted roasted almonds as the best hunger-fighting travel snack of all time.

I love them in salads and cranberry-orange scones. Unfortunately I tend to forget they're in the pantry, so they tend to end up in the trash after awhile.

I also use them in salads with toasted nuts, bits of goat cheese and the cranberries and a homemade vinigrette - yum - I do put the cranberries in for a while with the salad leaves, they seem to lose their real chewy texture and are a bit softer, but I add the nuts just before serving so that they are lovely and crunchy.

I love to add a handful to my oatmeal, and I also like to add them to my yogurt with a few chopped dried apricots.

You could also sandwich it in the middle of some brie.

Adding them to salads is the only way to get my husband to eat his salad--unless it's caesar, then no prob.
All the above suggestions are great...some are new to me and I love the ideas.

yogurt, oatmeal and salad are my most common uses. i seriously have at least two bags of the Trader Joe's ones on hand at all times.

I put them in salads with walnuts and bleu cheese, i put them in my thanksgiving cornbread and sausage stuffing. Really anyplace you make something savory and want something to balance out the flavors....

Put them on a salad with feta and balsamic vinaigrette! Simple but good! Dried cherries are awesome too!
