'Culinary Slumming'

What is your guilty pleasure? Crab rangoon, cheap canned beer, quarter pounders—we all have things that don't fit our "foodie" persona. What's yours?

141 Comments:

i can't resist a bag of pork rinds every now and then..... i guess they're in vogue at the moment, though, everyone is pork-crazy these days....(what were they waiting for?)

Arby's.(tho I haven't had it in years)
Totino's Party Pizza. (all the time)
Frozen fried chicken (ack)

Kraft deluxe mac & chs

fillet o'fish add lettuce, tomato, and "special sauce"'

papa johns or dominos pizza with mushrooms, tomato, & pineapple

OH! And either Lucky Charms or Reeses Peanut Butter Puffs.

me, too! i LOVE cheetos!

Danish canned ham
Canned smoked oysters
Vienna sausage - canned

hmm....pattern here

I freakin' love Bagel Bites and Buffalo Wild Wings! Haha.

TNTC, as they used to say on the lab reports.

Cheetos for me, too. Damn their cheesiness!

I will preface it with an occasional urge for Vienna sausage, spam and potted meat. Ok, I have come out of the processed food closet...I am ashamed!

@hungryinhouston - I have the same pattern! Mine are:

Bologna
Tinned Vienna sausages
Tinned ham (although I've been able to resist this one for a good couple of years...which I can't say about bologna)

I don't care for cheetos though...:-)

Isn't the "foodie" persona just one who eats for pleasure? It's not like foodie automatically equals gourmet. You really shouldn't feel guilty about a pleasure unless you're eating handfuls of lard out of the bucket or something like that. And even then, I might be swayed.

fried chicken
cheetos (I dont think anyone is above that powdered cheese...it's like orange crack)
MAYONNAISE

Bad Chinese food, Lipton Pasta Sides, and the Ultimate Cheeseburger from Jack-in-the-Box. Totino's Pizza Rolls. Lucky Charms.

Luckily, there are no Jack-in-the-Boxes in Chicago, the Chinese buffets near here breach the line between "bad" and "disgusting," the pasta sides are justifiable, and pizza rolls and Lucky Charms are only allowed during exam weeks.

Jalapeno cheetos swiped through whipped cream cheese. DON'T JUDGE ME.

I'm SO with HoneyBee, Jack-in-the-Box's Ultimate Cheeseburger with curly fries is disturbingly good. I'm not a fast food junky, as a matter of fact I can't remember the last time I had fast food, but Carl's Jr. also holds a special place in my heart. Western Bacon Cheeseburger, I adore you.

I also really love cheeseballs and Ritz crackers. I made crazy ass Amy Sedaris' Lil Smokey Cheeseball and it was crazy delicious.

Flamin' Hot Cheetos and Philadelphia cream cheese- they served it at lunch at my ghetto high school.

Velveeta mac and cheese with the cheese pouch, not the powdered kind.

Peanut butter and marshmallow fluff sandwiches.

Pizza flavored Pringles.

Grilled cheese sandwiches on Wonderbread and with Kraft American cheese slices.

There is too many, I have to say all the above and more then likely all the threads that will be below will be on my list.

Ramen noodles. I throw away the salt/spice packet and boil and drain them like regualr pasta. Add olive oil and Spike. Awesome, and I'm not ashamed.

Big Mac
Crunchy Cheeto's
Popeye's Extra Spicy Fried Chicken
Nong Shim Kimchi Ramen
Jack Link's Teriyaki Beef Nuggets

@maered - Jalapeno Cheeto's? Really!!! Where are you? I've never seen them and such a thing demands to be tasted. By me. Now.

After having a stomach bug, after the saltines and chicken broth, I really like Kraft Mac&Glue. Yup, the stuff in the blue box with the orange powder. It's bland enough and yet salty enough that it won't set my recovering stomach off. In fact, it's one of the things my husband will make when I'm sick because it's easy and the odor is practically non-existant and won't send me running to the bathroom. Plus, he can douse it with ketchup. Other guilty pleasures: cheetos, salt and vinegar pringles and buffalo wing pringles. Oh, and the Red Baron deep dish personal cheese pizzas.

Celeste personal supreme pizzas
Fluffernutter sandwiches (creamy PB w/Marshmallow Fluff)
Big Macs
FUNYUNS!!!!!! (I usually consume these with "hooker wine" (boxed wine)
Love the jalepeno cheetos (feeeel the burn!)

Doritos
String cheese
Tater tots

Gummy Bears, Cheetos, Captain Crunch with Crunchberries and Brown Sugar frosted Pop Tarts. All four food groups necessary for my survival!

i think saltines are the best. the more expensive the cheese the more i want it on a saltine.

Nacho cheese/pretzel Combos.
oh, and White Castle cheeseburgers, with everything.
also, lil' smokey wieners wrapped in croissant dough from a can!

junkfood - Doritos corn chips or scoops

fast food - KFC and Taco Bell "crunchwrap supreme" - omigod!

dip - pimento cheese - 1st had it in Charleston, S.C., now famous amongst my friends & family here in Canada

mainline - prime rib, roast chicken, any kind of lamb with veggies, mash potatoes and gravy

Make believe crabmeat - you know...Krab with a K.
A really good hamburger.
A really good french fry.
Pigs feet cooked in the gravy on Sunday.
Zeppoles at an Italian street fair.
Spanish peanuts in the sugar from the guy on the street.
These greasy Hungarian smoked meat things from a Hungarian butcher uptown Manhattan.
Pigs in Blankets (in their most plebian form, not dolled up with expensive puff pastry and high-end sausages).
A Publix Italian Sub.
And finally, a Big Mac.

Oh my...I feel so culinarily dirty just having this conversation...

I too have to throw my hat into the Big Mac ring. It's so unfortunate, but gosh darn it I love those things.

ooooh, ya'll HAD to mention the Ultimate Cheeseburger! Love 'em. I actually had one once with lettuce and tomato to try to "healthy" it up a little. It just wasn't the same.

Thanks for contributing to my delinquency! I've gotta have one now!

Beer in a can, for sure. Preferably cheap beer, like bud, pbr, or tecate. Another vote for cheetos. Jamaican beef patties with a slice of muenster cheese zapped in a microwave. "Cheese" filled kielbasa. Hotdogs at a baseball game. Powdered Kraft Mac N Cheese made with a stick of butter and milk. Butterfinger, Whatchamacallit, and Baby Ruth candy bars. Any kind of soda. Chips, potato or otherwise. Other than the beer in cans, I eat this stuff at most once or twice a year. That shit is poison.

Taco Bell
Frozen appetizers (particularly if they are mushroom, spinach, or Tex-Mex because my family won't eat those so it's the only way I get them)

Not a gourmet and I don't really think of myself as a foodie. Mainly, it's because I have a side that likes and occasionally endulges in poison, as simon called it above.^

I'm an absolute freak for Halloween candy and I eat salt and vinegar chips until my mouth hurts. That is not what one would call "refined."

i definite don't consider myself a foodie..hate that term. depending on peoples' definitions probably a quarter of my diet could be called guilty pleasures. that's in addition to the canned budweiser that i sometimes use for refreshment and intoxication.

Hmmm...I love Kraft Dinner, I can't help it. It's such delectable non food. I dump half the noodles and double up on cheese sauce.

I too have a soft spot for terrible mall 'chinese' 'food', Cool Ranch Doritos, oh...and shame of shames...Taco Bell nachos.

Do I lose my membership?

Ruffles with sour cream and onion dip...from a can
Salt and Vinegar chips until I have Joker mouth (starting to split at the sides....gross)
Hot dogs with loads of ketchup, mustard, kraut, and relish
Clausen mini dills
hashbrowns from Waffle House smothered in ketchup
Chicken fingers and curly fries from Jack N' the Box
Chocolate milkshakes with whipped cream and sprinkles from Cold Stone Creamery
Ben and Jerry's New York Super Fudge Chunk ice cream

Oh yeah, Hot Tamales...the GIANT size box of candy
and yes, the Velveeta mac and cheese in a box with the dehydrated broccoli pieces.....BARF, yet mmmmm...

@black liquorice MMMMM Waffle House hash browns served " All the Way" McDonalds Sausage Mc Muffin with Egg and sometimes...(well, alot),... sesame rice crackers, Philly cream cheese and Sriracha (but only Philly and not store brand cream cheese...um, doesn't that make it more gourmet?)

jellybeans. and how.

Peanut chews.

White Castle! Cream cheese wontons, Funyuns, Dolly Madison cakes, Jolly Ranchers, deep fried cheese curds, pickles wrapped in cream cheese wrapped in corned beef.

Cool.Ranch.Doritos

I think I gained 25 pounds in high school because of these...I can no longer keep them in my home. My nightmare is an unlimited supply of them. I would die in five years...tops.

Cheese filled Lil Smokies

crab rangoon and beef teriyaki on a stick and cool ranch doritos

Cheetos but ONLY the little hard crunchy kind. The bf likes the fat ones, but they taste like styrofoam to me.

Spicy nacho doritos.... eating a whole bunch but saving the licking my fingers bit till the end. Yum.

If fluffernutters are a sin then heaven is beyond my reach, cause I'm not sorry.

Chef Boyardee spaghetti and meatballs.
Cold canned peas.
Maple brown sugar Pop Tarts.
Hormel chili without beans.
Big fat patties of egg foo young with that thick-ass gravy on it.

And what may be the worst thing ever: An entire package of Buddig brand corned beef on squishy white bread, smashed into a flat tile.

Popeyes chicken (or bojangles cajun chicken if there is no popeyes to be found), Checkers burgers and fries, scallion pancakes from the uber-cheap chinese food place downtown, and frozen belgian waffles.

Cool Ranch Doritos.

Arby's smothered in the horseradish cream sauce from the pump pit.
Spare horsey packets for dipping the sammiches.

Pringles potato crisps. I love real potato chips, like the local Tims Cascade, but about once a month I have to kill a couple of tubes of Pringles. They are so bad, But I gotta have 'em.

And I thought I was bad!

Every now and then I gotta sneak a Twinkie : (

Oh yeah, and I forgot about the Krispy Kreme donut phase . . . I better stop thinking about this or I'll remember how I gained 10 lbs one summer.

Homemade chocolate chip cookies with a cold Pabst Blue Ribbon. If I had to pick one meal to eat on death row, set me up a dozen cookies and a dozen PBRs...

Entenmann's raspberry danishes--my grandma buys a box of entenmann's baked goods at least a few times a week (day old, always on sale). I like to go to her house for tea because she'll put it on the table and insist I eat some...

Also, Kraft mac n' cheese--staple of little kids and college students everywhere!

Kraft mac and cheese out of the box.
Sonic's strawberry fresh fruit slushes (especially during drink happy hour).
White Castle cheeseburgers and onion rings.
Mrs. Paul's fish sticks (preferably with the Kraft mac and cheese).
Tostitos lime and chile flavor, with Marzetti's southwestern ranch vegetable dip.
Anything served at a state fair.

@black -- You are so right about the Waffle House hash browns, but make mine covered, smothered, chunked AND chopped.

Oh -- and corned beef hash out of the can, fried to extra crispy!

It makes me feel dirty thinking about it, but the dirty water hotdogs from street carts are always delicious. Pretzels, and sugary peanuts from the street vendors. Um....random cheap chinese street food including deep fried gluten sticks (for breakfast). Oh man.

Word on the Pringles!

I can't have them in the house. I will eat cans of them, especially the sour cream and onion ones.

Brown sugar Pop Tarts are another weakness, although I haven't purchased them in at least a year, maybe two.

Cheddarwurst. I'm not sure what kind of sausage it actually is, but it's damn tasty.

Taco Bell
Any Hostess product that has chocolate, or Twinkies (not those nasty fruit pies)
Potato chips with dip from the jar

@ chisai, the goodness known as Jalapeno Cheetos--NOT to be confused with Flamin' Hot Cheetos, which is a completely different thing--can be found at Target.

No kidding. Target. At least the one in Albany, CA, on the outskirts of Berkeley.

Let me know if you can't find them. I'll mail you a bag.

- Thick-sliced bologna and chunky style peanut butter, smooshed between a couple of pieces of squishy white bread [crusts optional].
- Processed cheese from a can - bacon flavor, of course - on Ritz crackers.
- Maraschino cherries in my scotch-on-the-rocks [but only at home, and only in the blends].
- Whipped cream, shot from the can, straight into the mouth [best done while still in jammies for maximum debasement/joy].
- A ginormous pupu platter while downing cocktails @ the local greasy Chinese joint [they always have the BEST bars].

Oh, god, I hang my head in delicious shame [only to spy my burgeoning belly].

Glad to see that there are no SNOBS here.

Other than the canned meat products, with the exception of corned beef hash, I can pretty much agree with this list.

I should probably add: Cape Cod Dark Russet Potato Chips; port wine & cheddar cheese spread; Reese's Peanut Butter Cups

I have a bizarre love for our local China Buffet. It's been closed down a few times for health code violations, but I think until I've been violently ill, I will continue to adore their MSG-filled goodness.

McDonald's double cheeseburgers and their golden, salty fries

Also Cheeze Whiz- spread thick on my toast or English muffin for breakfast

Oh where do I start? Tostinos Combo Pizzas (they are less than a buck here!) Jack in the Box 2 regular tacos and curly fries, oh and Costco Hotdogs! I avoid those things all but 2 a year....

oh yeah- the white "cheddar" popcorn in the black bag. I could eat the family size bags if I allowed them in the house.

you guys eat vienna sausages? holy shit...

people who love food and drink and refuse canned domestic beer are lame. wtf is with you guys? what are you doing, just sustaining yourselves on some thick brown ale imported shit? get it together and drink some american lager every once and a while.

for me, mcdonald's french fries dipped in ranch dressing. just thinking about it makes me feel sleazy.

I second (or third, or fourth...) the Velveeta Shells 'n Cheese, but mine has to be with potato chips. Scoop it up and eat it. Great taste/texture with that combo.

I also love Taco Bell.

Remembered one - Any queso recipe that begins with 1 Rectangle of Velveeta. I must admit though, I eat it for the salt rush and not any "cheesy" experience. It doesn't resemble cheese in any way, shape or form. Just a good excuse for a tortilla chip to ride into my mouth.

Joker mouth (starting to split at the sides....gross)
This belongs in a culinary dictionary somewhere.

I forgot about ... Sin of all sins ... Canned Ravioli. All my deceased relatives just rolled in their graves. I used to call this "lunchroom food" because the grammar school I attended served it at least once a week. When I was pregnant, I had cravings for it. My dad had a term for canned ravioli, in fact canned pasta of any kind: Paste for the walls. I imagine he meant wallpaper paste. Yeah...That about sums it up.

crappy mall chinese food and bacon double cheesburgers at McD's, topped with a heaping side order of shame

fine, i'll say it - i freaking LOVE hot pockets.

KFC Original recipe Crispy strips
Chez-its

Rotel dip.

Parmesan goldfish, microwave popcorn (almost nightly), sour patch kids, and canned green peas (in the silver can - important!). I grew up on the green peas and can't handle the frozen kind except in risotto--my OH will not eat the canned. Tough luck for him!

Double Stuff Oreos and Ring Dings.

"Secrets" are so much fun. Especially when you read everyone else's. I feel exceedingly normal and even healthy after reading this list! Ha

Sardine w/ tons of different topping options is probably my highest prized, never-get-to-eat-but-pig-when-they-come food item.

Cool Ranch Doritos
Annie's Shells and Cheese loaded with whole milk and butter
Cheetos of any kind
Onion dip made from onion soup packages with sour cream
Clam dip made with canned clams and sour cream with sour cream and onion chips on the side
Brown sugar Pop-Tarts
Goya Olives stuffed with tuna fish
Coco Puffs, Cap'n Crunch, Frosted Flakes, Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Cereal, Cinammon Toast Crunch French Toast Cereal with 2% milk
Zebra Cakes

White Castle sliders! Too bad there's not a White Castle to be found anywhere near home. I haven't had one since last century.

the BK veggie burger (yum, yum, yum. probably coated in beef grease but it is good so whatever.)
those salty little packets of instant miso soup.
Qdoba nachos
sour cream and/or cream cheese on everything (this might not sound bad, but i put it on some weird things. soup? )
stouffer's frozen mac n' cheese (it is bomb.. its creamy goodness smells like a heart attack.)

This is one the best threads ever.

Cheetos - the original crunchy kind, and that newfangled cheezy poof thing that they've got. I am so ashamed to admit that I have been found splayed out on a couch with an empty bag of Cheetos and the cheesy, orange marks of sin around my mouth and on my fingers.

McD's chicken nuggets - I love them. I really love them. I eat them dipped in *gulp* a mix of kewpie mayo and sambal olek. As though they weren't bad enough :-(

SPAM - oh god i love spam. Spam with eggs and a side of tomatoes on rice is my idea of a happy meal.

Cheez Whiz. On toast. With sugar. Holy shit.

Buffets, especially Chinese and Breakfast
Buffalo Pretzel Chips
Kettlecorn
Stoffers' Mac 'n Cheese

Hot Pockets for me too. Delicious pockety goodness.
Funyons come in the house every now and then only to disappear very quickly... into my mouth.

Schlitz
White Castle
Miracle Whip
Totino's Frozen Pizza

"Forgive me, for I have sinned..."

I love the bagels at McDonald's. I know, I know... I'm sorry! They really shoudn't even be called bagels... but they are delicious.

::steps out of confessional::

One word SPAM! Fried with american cheese, toast and mayo.

40 oz. beers
lay's potato chips and onion soup mix dip.

vanilla creme waffer cookies

Nacho cheese Doritos with ranch dip. And if they are open and no one is around to give me s**t I go to Weinerschintzel for chili cheese hamburgers. My dirtiest secret though has to be canned deviled ham with tons of mayonnaise on white bread.

@ mhurst826: oh MAN you're so rght about the Smartfood white chedder popcorn!! I can eat a bag of that in five seconds. Also white cheddar Cheez-Its, AND those holiday popcorn tins filled with cheese, caramel, and regular p'corn.

@ mhurst826, I'll second the Smartfood. And I'm down with the krab rangoons any day.

I think I gained 10 lbs. while reading this.

Okay, my son just came home and loved this thread and wanted to add his two cents. His downfall are those tuna fish sandwiches from gas stations. Now I don't feel so bad about my deviled ham.

Cheetos and doritos and any kind of cheesy salty thing...surprisingly i don't like nacho cheese or any kind of orange cheese product, except on salty chip and cracker things.
Snickers
Peanut M&Ms
Nutella eaten from the jar with a spoon...oops...

Buffalo wings and beer...at a sports bar or a dive bar or a pool hall...they usually have the best. btw, I don't give a $#!@ about sports.

Spam or sliced and browned Nathan's hotdogs in kimchi jigae. Lived off this for a week once...a long long time ago...but I still think about it making it again...when my husband is out of town...he won't understand why his princess wife would crave Spam or hot dog kimchi jigae.

Oreos soaked in milk til they're mushy
Chicken in a Biscuit crackers
Kraft mac-n-cheese (powdered cheese sauce kind)
Jalapeno poppers (cream cheese filled) with pepper jelly
My husband would definately agree on the Nutella!

Oh! And I forgot chocolate chips melted in the microwave, eaten with a spoon...mmmm

i can't believe everyones mentioned cheetos but no one has mentioned CHEEZ DOODLES which are clearly a superior product. just as cheez-its are waaay better than cheese nips. i think its in the z cheese spelled with a z means automatic deliciousness.

@sustarz Do you mean Jax cheez doodles? Loved them growing up and just the fact that the brand is from Bachman makes me all nostalgic. JAX!

cold ravioli and dinty moore out of the can. cheap pot pies. tina's frozen burrito's. salami with cream cheese. little debby's. crab rangoon. kfc. oodles of noodles. deviled ham. crusty bread dipped on olive oil and vinegar. wings. m&m's. bud lite. dell's lemonaide with captain morgan. soup with fritos from the lunch truck.

my name is christine and i have a junk food problem.

Hamburger Helper and McDonald's Chicken McNuggets!!

Oh man -

There's nothing better than walking out of Federal Corporation Super Liquor Store with a case - yes, a case - of King Cobra 40 oz. The nectar of the gods!!

And...hot wings, dirty as hell chinese food, hungry howies dipper in ranch.

Doritoes dipped in sour cream (it rights all wrongs)
Sweet & Sour Chicken (with super sticky red maraschino cherry sauce)
Five Guys (little cheeseburger with ketchup and pickles, please, and don't forget the cajun fries)

i have never commented before...but this is just too good...
beer and dessert together (preferably a forty and a cupcake)
queso made with velveeta cheeze
peanut butter and nutella sandwiches made with oatnut bread....yummy!

@prilynn-welcome!

Krispy Kreme = culinary slumming? For real?

I can't equate the delectable goodness that is the Krispy Kreme doughnut, especially the Hot Light doughnuts, with something bad for you. In fact, I imagine angel flesh tastes much like a Krispy Kreme doughnut when the Hot Light's on.

When I lived in Thailand for eight months, I craved Krispy Kreme. I was like this babbling prophet of the doughnut, looking for KK outlets near me (none in Asia, circa 2003).

I also craved the hell out of grits.

oh yeah- dinty moore and chef boyardee ravioli from a can, liverwurst sandwiches with mustard and onion, bologna and yellow american cheese, Baskin-Robbins Cappuccino Blast, Dunkin Donuts munchkins-esp chocolate glazed.

This is the greatest thread. I am vegetarian, so some of these culinary sins are out of my realm, but I sometimes want to put milk duds in my popcorn at the movies. I'm flexible--it could also be gummy bears. I have done it before and I totally regretted it because I felt like I was going to go into a coma afterwards, but it tasted awesome. You have to be really careful who you are with when you do this to avoid being judged.

Also: french fries (especially cheese fries), doughnuts, chocolate Special K (not an actual food), veggie burger from P. Terry's

Skyline Chili & White Castle when I go home to Cincinnati. It is dangerous to live in the same city as Skyline!

I think "coolname" and this thread should get some kind of an award from SERIOUS EATS headquarters! Does anyone agree.

I forgot to mention hanky pankies! That may be the only way I'll eat velveeta.

@dmcavanagh~yup, "coolname" should get some kind of Serious Eats award for this thread...now just what should it be. "Taxi-cab Foodie Confession Award," or maybe "Exposed: All you did and didn't want to know about your fellow foodies Award," or how's about the simple and yet direct "Food Sluts: All your hardcore, whorish desires Award." Okay now somebody suggest something that real--I'm going to bed now totally embarassed. But really this is perhaps one of the most fun and interesting threads posted in a while. A terrific post holiday stress & frigid weather reliever!

@sustarz, LOL!

@Aynsl156
"...Um....random cheap chinese street food including deep fried gluten sticks (for breakfast). Oh man."

Those fried crullers ARE eaten traditionally as breakfast food!
What a way to start the day!

I love:

Canned corn niblets straight out of the can. Preferably the kind with salt. I scoff at the No Salt versions. Mmm...sodium.

Pan fried spam until the edges are crispy (I blame my Filipino roommate for this one)

Tostitos lime corn chips
That gelatinous queso dip that has infinite shelf life outside of the fridge

A lethal dip made from a whole package of Philly Cream Cheese, canned refried beans and shredded "cheese" that comes in a bag, MICROWAVED. DAMN FINE EATIN'

practically all frozen items in the frozen aisle section. the entrees: pasta, pizza, etc. breakfast items; i like eating chocolate chip waffles right out of the freezer.

Muncho's potato chip things. I don't know what they really are. They aren't potato chips. I very seldom see them anywhere, which is probably a good thing.

American list:
Kraft Mac n' Cheese Deluxe (the whole damned box, with extra cheese added on top and put in a hot oven to melt)
Bagged Red Beans and Rice, preferably with chunks of smoked sausage added.
Dr Pepper
Pizza rolls
Jimmy Dean's breakfast sausage, link or patty
Tinned ravioli
Tostitos, consumed until the mouth is salt-burned, washed down with cheap canned lager.
Brown Sugar and Cinnamon Pop-Tarts
Grilled cheese, with wonder bread and Kraft singles and bread-and-butter pickles, dipped in mayonnaise
Store-bought potato salad and cole slaw
Anything made by Reese's

UK list:
Pork sausages done on a disposable grill
Chip-shop chips
Bacon sarnies
BLTs from Pret-a-Manger
Falafel from street carts
Hummus and mature cheddar sandwiches
'Chorizo' flavoured crisps
Heinz' tinned vegetable soup

@dbcurrie - I think they are catagorized as "crisps", hahaha

this is literally the best thread EVER. I feel an odd sense of acceptance after reading it...

more to add to my list...
cheap strawberry jam-straight out of the jar
banquet frozen dinners-yes, the ones they sell for like a buck
bean dip
canned veg-cold out of the can
arby's sandwiches, slathered in horsey sauce
grocery store Californis rolls

There are actually very few things that I crave that are horrible for me. That said, I would sell my soul for greasy chinese food. Yup, thats about it.

chili cheese fries from del taco (shudder), with sour cream
totinos pizza and pizza rolls (both dipped in ranch)
kraft blue box mac w/ 1/2 the noodles, add hot dogs, sometimes ketchup
ruffles sour cream and onion chips, add cheese, nuke
taco bell quesadilla with extra sauce.
top-ramen with 1/2 the noodles, dry, with the salty-goodness packet... like chips!

and... in response to "joker mouth": when I eat a whole box of cocoa puffs in a day, I prefer to refer to it as "car wash mouth". I think you get the visual.

Cheeto Puffs and Funyuns. Also, I use cream of soups - I KNOW!

Munchos! Good call, DB.
Pot pies
Spam
Chef Boyardee raviolis
Jack in the box tacos

To be continued...

I need to add... Birds-Eye broccoli with cheese sauce. I had that for dinner last night (after I had made real dinner for my daughter). And cheap (like $4 a bottle) red wine - whatever is on sale at the groc store that day.

Oh, I should have mentioned in my other posting: Girl Scout Cookies. Specifically the cookies known as Samoas, also assuming the moniker of Coconut DeLites.

Partially hydrogenated oil never tasted so good.

Even more decadent is the Samoas ice cream from Edy's. I haven't had it myself, but if you're going to be bad, why not be really bad?

Pabst Blue Ribbon and Pop-Tarts.

Chef Boyardee Ravioli
B&M Brown Bread
Canned chicken for sandwiches
Pringles
Packaged Dinosaur BBQ Pulled Pork

@dhorst i was actually referring to the wise brand never heard of jax

Guilty pleasures: the crunchy Cheetos and turkey pot pie. I'll second the Chef Boyardee Ravioli (mini-size, for weekend lunch). Also, cheese filled hot dogs (and I shouldn't because they aren't Kosher - the guilt!) I always wonder what the cashier is thinking about my purchases. And, God, of course.

bottled salad dressing/marinade/condiments.

I've given up so many foods like this lately...but I do still love crunchy cheetos, reeses peanut butter cups and McDonald's chicken mcnuggets...with hot mustard sauce. I think I buy the nuggets just for the sauce! Those new jalapeno crunchy cheetos are addictive!!

Alright, I'll bite: You take two slices of white bread; spread Hellman's mayo on one piece and French's yellow mustard on the other. You lay out two slices of Oscar Mayer b-o-l-o-g-n-a on the MUSTARD side, then lightly glaze that "meat" with some sweet pickle relish. Top THAT with a healthy layer of Wise plain potato chips, then slap the mayo'd bread on top. Grab it up in two hands, squishing slightly to keep the whole construct together. A swig of chilled V-8 washes it down quite nicely. Yum.

Oh, man, I'm guilty:
- a burger from anywhere but McDonald's
- a hot dog from the grill on a summer day
- potato chips
- cheetos
- Betty Crocker "warm delgihts"
- microwavable mac'n cheese
- Jacks' pizza
- fast food Chinese
- regular or sugar-dusted krispy kremes

. . . and now I'm hungry

@fuuchan: I used to get them for breakfast when I was little, and I would always let them get stale on purpose because I loved ripping into them with my teeth. I'm not supposed to eat deep fried stuff anymore, but they haunt me.....I'm totally with you on the tostitos lime chips, something about that coating of slightly sour powder.

I forgot to add: Chef boyardee ravioli, and wendy's fries dipped in frosty.

Looks like I am a little late to the party! It's been a little hectic for me lately..

Here's what I can be guilty of:

~Five Guys: I should be a shareholder
~Cream Cheese: I have a thing for it and mostly all kinds. I love it on or in anything. Just don't like it if jalapenos are involved.
~Sour Cream: I just have to have it. Can't think of weird circumstances when used...wait does having it with steak from time to time count?
~Velveeta Mac and Cheese: Just have to once in a while
~Queso Dip made with Velveeta: don't make it (I'd probably gain 100 lbs if I did) but will eat at parties
~Good French Fries
~Pop Secret Sweet n Salty
~ColdStone Creamery: It's been since the summer but man, I LOVE it there.
~Crab Rangoon and General Tso's Chicken
~Bobbies: A Delaware Fave!
~Bottled Salad Dressing: Newman's Own Light Bals Vin is good!
~Kettle Cooked Potato Chips: Sooo good. Love that added crunch.

I have enjoyed reading this thread! It's a great one. :-)

i love to mix a bag of m&m's (plain, peanut, or peanutbutter) into a bag of that white cheddar popcorn. sweet and salty together is delicious

@gypsykid, you definitely read my mind! My cousin and I thought we were the only wackos who loved that combo!
~Pringles, Cheetos, Fritos & Funyuns (you get the gist)
~Chocolate Pop Tarts
~Big Mac (side salad and Iced Tea on a good day - fries and Coke on a bad day)

I'm so relieved to see all the posts about fluffernutters and deviled ham. I love those!

I have some others like:
~a grinder made with way too much salty, cured meat/cheese/oil and vinegar
~hot, salty fries dipped in a milk shake or frosty
~deep fried hashbrown patties

Every now and then nothing will do besides one of the above!

I forgot two of my biggest guilty pleasures. I LOVE to take dill pickle spears and make a line of ketchup along the top edge of the pickle, then eat and repeat. My new husband walked in on that one about a month in. Embarassing! Amazingly, he is still with me. Also buttered, mashed potatoes mixed with either corn or peas. My stepmom used to be revolted by this. Made me want to do it more BTW! What a great topic!

McGriddles - Butter Rum Life Savers - Cape Cod salt & vinegar chips - Ben & Jerry's Cake Batter ice cream - Sugar Babies - those red Zingers with coconut topping - and I love me some cheap fish sticks with ketchup...

poutine. the stuff may have been introduced to me during those late nights in college, but it's good stuff. and the fact that it's pretty much unavailable in nyc makes it that much more desirable.
