Alternative to Cream Cheese — or a Brand Without Junk?

Do you have suggestions on an alternative to cream cheese (other than mascarpone, which is super expensive in my area). Or, can you recommend a brand that doesn't have all of the thickening agents or carob? I'm allergic to carob :-(
