When do you Serious Eats?
Recently, I noticed that there are a couple of night owls other than myself on Serious Eats; late night posts, super early morning comments- that kind of thing. Which led me to wonder what time other users find themselves spending time on Serious Eats.
I'm a freelance writer and keep bizarre hours. So, when I start working on a piece or editing and need a break, I come on over to Serious Eats and check out new posts, make comments, etc., etc.
When do you come on Serious Eats? Does anyone check out the site from work? Early in the day with their morning coffee? In the afternoon when your kids are napping?

Whenever I'm in front of a computer, which is all to much these days. And, I must confess, as a result I've become such a Serious Eats junkie that I even check in and comment on stuff from my cellphone :D

I do not work, Mr Tomato does and I work around him. I tend to go to bed late and get up early with him. My day is my own. Depending on what I am doing I SE when I can. Sometimes on my notebook in bed since I am an insomniac or sometimes during marathon baking like tonight.

I work from home. I'm also an insomniac (sometimes I work until 2-3 am, sometimes I'm just awake for no good reason), which is why, I reckon, I'm more likely to make "late night posts" than leave any "super early morning comments" (although I may still be awake at 4-5 am, which would probably qualify as "super early morning").
I usually check SE when I come to my desk round 10-11 am, and may do so again between audits sometimes (never in the middle though - while I'm my own boss, I'm quite strict:-)). And then again late at night when I go to bed (courtesy of my trusty old Mac).

I have insomnia and I am not working right now, ehich is a horrible combination, considering it allows me to SE as much as I feel like but does not produce the fundage to try out all the amazing recipes and restaurants I find on here...Oh well, jobinterview tomorrow.
I'm pretty much on here at all hours.

I work from home too, and since I'm a terrible procrastinator, I'm likely to check in on SE at any time. Since I'm a night owl as well, I love to catch interesting discussions late at night!

Whenever, but I'm 7 hrs ahead of CST, so if it appears that I'm on at odd times, maybe that's why.

I SE at work, off and on, and then occasionally I will pull out my laptop at night. Since the boyfriend and I often stay up till 2am Central or later, this can lead to some pretty late-posted comments.

I work from home, and much of that time is near a computer, so I check in to SE when there's a spare moment and a useful brain cell. In the evening, when I'm done with work, dinner and whatever and I have my feet up, I'll pop in and see what's up.
Sometimes I'm up too late, but I also thing time zones make some of us seem like we're keeping odder hours than we really are.
I'm usually not here in the mornings, though. That's when I'm returning phone calls, checking email for things I have to get done right away, and then getting away from the computer until a little later.

Usually late at night when I'm procrastinating, but occasionally during the day if I'm at work. Basically, if I have a free second, I'm on SE =). Oddly enough, it's mostly Talk; all the other articles I read in the daily updates email.

On weekdays, I check from work in the morning and lunch mostly, and then sporadically throughout the workday. I might check when I get home. So any time between 7:00 am - 1:00 am.
On the weekends, it varies. I may not check at all or I might be off and on all day/night. Depends on what I'm doing.

I SE after checking my e-mail. Hotmail for correspondence, yahoo for responses on discussion boards, and the third tab I open is SE.

I have to rest after each little bit of exertion, so I'm on and off all day and night. I am another insomniac, often up all night. Last night was another one of those nights. Glad for the distraction. Still play way too many games of FreeCell.

Um... is this confession time? The first time is with my morning coffee... then maybe a few hours later after I've done a bit of housework and feel I need a break... then a few hours that when both kids are home from school and I have a cup of tea... probably again shortly after dinner... and then depending on the night, once more before turning in.

I am retired and can check anytime I want. I am new to the site and I don't think I am using it to maximum yet - I am not tech oriented, so the computer does not come easily. I love the SE website, I just stumbled across it accidentally and I am amazed at how quickly it has become part of my day. I have been reading back threads and trying to get familiar with some of the poster's names. A few of my posts have garnered sarcastic responses and I realize I need to develop a thick hide if I wish my opinions to be heard in the public forum. I am still learning!

I on the other hand, do not have insomnia. In fact, I take my 8 hours each night very SERIOUS. I check in every morning and when I get home from work. Sometimes I work from home and I will leave the SE tab open all day and pop in and out.

I'm an SE addict. I keep the site open all day at work, and whenever I'm not busy (and frankly, sometimes when I am) I'm checking and posting and reading...I like to feel "connected" to my fellow foodies!

I check mostly during my lunch hour. I CAN'T read it prior to lunch, as it often causes severe hunger pangs.
I also check from home whenever...timing isn't as crucial then, cause I can grab a snack whenever.

At work. As soon as I sit down at my desk with a cup of coffee, I check out my Google Reader and SE. I'm usually one of the first people in the office, so it's very peaceful and relaxing. My favorite part of the morning. :)

I'm right there with you HappyJack. I get into the office before most and that's my SEing time. I also come back multiple times throughout the workday, but I'm rarely on when I'm home because that's when I spend my time cooking and baking!

My posts today being the aberration - it's @ 3 in the afternoon here right now - I generally do Serious Eats between midnight and 3 am. Why? Complete night owl. And I'm usually off by 3 am because - don't laugh - GSN [Game Show Network] shows REALLY old b/w game shows @ 3 and 3:30 am. Right now they're @ the end of 1957 for "What's My Line," and they've just started 1957 for "To Tell the Truth." After those, I head for bed.

I can't tell you the number of ideas that i've given my co-workers for dinner, cookies, entertaining and fun from reading SE!

I'm in school, so it varies. When I'm not in lecture, I'm usually on maybe five to eight times at various points through the day. But if I'm in lecture, then I'm checking every 15 minutes. I'm also a morning person, so I'm often on around 5 in the morning.

My first SE stop is right after checking my work e-mail and some online news. Then I stop through periodically throughout the day for new posts. I ususally always check out SE:NY for the dessert feature in the afternoon. OH...and if I have to skip lunch and stay at my desk...I "photograze" a bit. I know, pretty sad...But think of all the calories I'm avoiding by "eating" vicariously. I make up for them at dinner time though :)

usually after i get home and after supper on and off till i get tired. the weekends i'm on and off depending on what i'm doing. i don't know how i found this site. but i have almost peed my pants, fallen off the chair, screamed, and got teary eyed. i'm so glad i clicked where i did because i really love SE.

Early morning, late afternoon/early evening, sometimes later evening - I wish I could check it from work - the reading here is far more interesting than the drivel on CNBC and the headlines I get on my workstation.

Every night when I get home from work. I usually arrive around 1 or 2pm EST, so I oftentimes miss the active discussions. Because of this, I rarely post. Also because of this, I often get full, great, fun discussions to read with my evening food and/or drink. Works well for a lurker.

now that I'm unemployed- whenever. Curently I'm home from my local bar- so yeah here I am! it's 1 am Tuesday..Colorado time..what?!?. But I used to check in at work frequently- so what does that say about my work ethic?....Whatever. I heart Serious Eats.

With me, you never know. I'm up early to make sure the kids are going and to let the dog out, so I usually check in then. Mid-morning and mid-afternoon I usually check in to see what's up in Talk. Then usually later in the evening and often when I can't sleep (which is a lot lately) I check in in the wee hours. So, almost any time is Serious Eats time. And so much more fun than Miller time.
