Sausage balls
I've been tasked to make sausage balls for Christmas Eve, and I've made them before you know the bisquick type, but I'd like to jazz it up a tad......any ideas

I stuff mushroom caps with Italian sausage and broil for a few minutes until meat is cooked. Couldn't be more simple and they get disappear almost immediately.

I love meatballs served with tzatziki sauce.

Green onion? A little chipotle/adobo sauce? Stuffing favors: add minced celery/mushroom/sage? Pimentos/roasted red peppers? French onion soup mix (c'mon, we're already using Bisquick, and it would add a toasty/worchestershirey flavor)? Curry powder? Yumm....be sure to make extra and freeze for emergency apps for yourself later.
I also like them without sausage: sub crabmeat/paprika/parmesan...little ghetto crabcakes!

I've made this recipe many times using pepper jack cheese and hot sausage. It's always a hit.

Agreed with lamora - my recipe calls for grated cheese and sausage / with a bread crumbs. Always a hit.

I like wrapping ground sausage around hard boiled eggs and deep frying them

Wow - PJR - thanks for reminding me. They're called Scottish eggs. I make them mostly around the holidays, but forgot this year. Off to the store - I take a tube of Jimmy Dean / wrap around a hardboiled egg and then dip in seasoned bread crumbs. Bake for about 30 minutes and serve with hot mustard. Always a hit...
