Romantic evening of wine and snacks in Pittsburgh, PA?

We can't always go out for dinner- I work in the food service industry myself and tend to work closing shifts, so I don't get home until it's a bit late for dinner. I'd like to be able to go out for a romantic evening of unwinding with my partner though. Trying to figure out a nice place to go and try some wine and have some light fare- a fruit and cheese plate or some tapas (but not what a lot of places are calling tapas, where each plate is enough for a full meal for me).

We're in Pittsburgh, PA- in the city proper, and looking for something reasonably affordable. Our budget for this is pretty much my tips from the day's shift.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

I would suggest Vivo in Bellevue. Each day Sam the Chef/Owner makes a new menu from whatever they can find that is fresh and seasonal. The meal is complete from appetizer course through dessert course (don't skip the dessert). Vivo is like an oasis of great food and incredible (and personal) service. It is also BYOB so you can control your booze costs easily. it is great Italian fare, so a nice $10 Barbera will fit almost any menu choice! As a food service person (I am ITB) you will appreciate the food and the place.

I'm not sure what your tips look like, but I would head to Casbah. It's not super cheap, but the service is great, they have cheese plates, and everything I've ever had there is really good. Of course, I moved west about a year and a half ago, but I would be *really* surprised if things were radically different nowadays. It's on highland ave. kind of between Shadyside & Eas'Lib. I miss Pittsburgh food :(

Try Seviche on Penn Ave. Its very fun on cold nights like this. It has obviously seviche but a few other small plates and a great wine selection. It is alittle pricey but we enjoy ourselves every time we go. Also, Olive or Twist is one of my FAVORITE spots right around the corner from the Benedum. OH and the Backstage bar in Theater Square, their food is REALLY tasty!
