Quick, Easy and Delicious - what can you add?
Ok - I am always looking for quick, easy, healthy and delicious meals - so I would like to start the "talk" rolling. I just tried Rosetto Steam n Eat ravioli and its great. Super quick (6 minutes), very healthy (its all natural), super easy (steams in the bag in the microwave) and very tasty. In a pinch I just toss it with a gourmet jar sauce - but I have also used it with my own sauce. Ravioli steams - so its has a super taste and texture.
Ok - thats my contribution - your turn....

Sounds like a shill to me, but I think they'd go perfectly with some steamed catfish farmer.

My turn? You are a SHILL. SHILLS steam perfectly with catfish farmers and go beautifully with 100% kona coffee.

I like to add stuffed cheater (frozen!) pastas to soup. Having that stuff in the freezer is a nice little save when you have a smattering of leftovers that don't quite stretch into a meal on their own. Leftover chicken or roast, chopped veggies, can of broth, can of tomatoes (however you like), plus the pasta. I like to boil it in the soup, but if your stuff steams nicely then just toss it in after it's cooked.

mmmmmmmm.... bag o' ravioli....... I like mine with spam cut up real fine and then I have my mother do a nice roast to go with it. Top it all off with a steaming pile of chicken dung and some fresh grass clippings.... nothing says more simple or more delicious.
Pavlov at 10:30AM on 12/31/08
Okay, I don't get it. It takes precisely 5 minutes for a half bag of Rosetto raviolis to boil in a small sauce pot (I know because my son eats them at least once a week) -- why do the microwave route?? IMO, some things just don't have to be made more simple...it's just a marketing gimmick.
juliebugsmama at 10:47AM on 12/31/08
maybe add a can of chicken for some texture
Nonny at 10:54AM on 12/31/08
@julie ~ ding ding ding ding! You win the prize!!
izatryt at 11:20AM on 12/31/08
let me guess the ravioli is stuffed with miracle berries?
huneybumper at 11:28AM on 12/31/08
AH! @ Huneybumper..... God I wished I had thought of that.... ZINGER!
Pavlov at 11:52AM on 12/31/08
Good one huney!!
izatryt at 11:59AM on 12/31/08
"All natural" does not equal "healthy."
By the way, my catfish famer likes to eat his spam ravioli with a side of 100% Kona coffee sauce.

Microwave ravioli the next sign of the apocalypse. Does it ever end?
JerzeeTomato at 2:00PM on 12/31/08
Having sex in a beanbag chair "sounds" like a great idea too.... until you try it!
Pavlov at 2:08PM on 12/31/08
"add some gourmet sauce from a jar" .... why go gourmet when you're "microwaving" ravioli ... why not ketchup????? is it not a vegetable?
pooch at 2:31PM on 12/31/08
@ pavlov it does work really well but only if you use the position described on pg 458 of the Kama Sutra, and only if done with miracle berry supposotories. ;-)
huneybumper at 2:45PM on 12/31/08
Ha! bean bag chairs!
shrtcake_1999 at 2:47PM on 12/31/08
I make those frozen stuffed pastas for my dog when she isn't feeling right. I mean, if all the preservatives and garbage in them doesn't kill whatever is ailing her, then nothing will....right? (It certainly wasn't the 3lb box of chocolates OR the Plen-T-Pak of Wrigleys, with the white paper wrapper but left the foil paper behind). She also like it to be served with a bowl of 100% Kona Coffee, double cream and a side of miracle berry.
Hot damn, you know its New Years now!
ChelleyD01 at 7:13PM on 12/31/08
I make these with a salted caramel sauce and a bean bag ragu.
lamora at 10:47PM on 12/31/08
ugh. steam in the bag is good for frozen veggies. if you are doing frozen veggies, boiled or steamed in bag, no big difference there. i realize you all think thats horrible, but veggies at least no longer go bad in our house. we either have plans or they stay good indefinitely.
blizcheetah at 1:03AM on 01/01/09
@blitzcheetah ~ the OP is a shill. Personally, I don't trust cooking food in the microwave in a plastic bag. I'd rather put it in glass or even paper, but plastic - not so much. I don't care what they say - I've learned that "they" can't be trusted.
Hey Chelley, I want your dogs food and your gaggle of sluts as my posse. And I totally agree with you about 2008. There's a very steamed catfish farmer somewhere around here. Maybe I left him in the microwave, wrapped in latex. I hear that's safe for something or other.
PerkyMac at 1:12AM on 01/01/09
perky. the latex is good when your using bean bags.
dearrie at 12:33PM on 01/01/09
There's dearrie! You so got it! ;-D
PerkyMac at 1:40PM on 01/01/09
why is it everyone thinks "all natural" signifies something amazingly good for you? dog sh*t suffle would be all natural too, but I doubt anyone would want to eat it!
huneybumper at 3:08PM on 01/01/09
So much for shilling on SE. I've laughed until there are tears in my eyes at the responses. @pooch, you win the sweepstakes on this one. Microwaved gourmet, indeed!!!
czken at 4:30PM on 01/01/09
thanks czken -- i love it when it gets a little randy here...!!! i love those shills.....
pooch at 6:55PM on 01/01/09
I'm with pooch ~ starting to look forward to shills, because we have so much fun and no guilt for going OT. For those who may be new and wonder why you see such strange terms as catfish farmer, they are all from the ghosts of shills past, resurrected for our amusement. Yes, we are easily amused and crack ourselves up. Please feel free to join in. ;-D
PerkyMac at 8:03PM on 01/01/09
for some reason i am not afraid of plastic... it seems as trustworthy as non-stick pans or the water i am cooking with or the chemicals used to grow my food or the microwave.
blizcheetah at 8:24PM on 01/01/09
You're right - "all natural" doesn't mean healthy. But if you love ravioli - which I do - this is the way to go. Its all-natural - meaning there are no artificial flavors, colors and preservatives. Plus its GMO free.
I love Rosetto Steam n Eat for that reason - and for the fact that its quick, easy and delicious.
