joe shanghai soup dumplings in flushing
well, i'm making my yearly pilgrimage to my brother's house in queens and we always go to joe's for soup dumplings (and the shanghai noodles are very good, too) ..... haven't been there in awhile.... any comments? any other recommendations?

i used to go to the flushing location 4x a week a few years back. i love the place. i think it's better than the Manhattan location now. shanghai fried flat noodles are also good there. my bro likes the lion's head. i'm just happy with the crabmeat dumplings.

Are the dumplings at Joe's in Flushing anything like the ones at the Manhattan location? If so, then I don't think are very good :(
They suffer from the same problem that many NYC soup dumplings do, i.e. a soup that's over-seasoned and too aggressively meaty. And the skin isn't delicate enough. Sigh.

I've had them, and they're fantastic. I work in the area and go for lunch now and then. I've heard some say they may even be better than one of the manhattan locations, though I'm not sure which one.
Just eat 'em before the broth starts to cool making they're very high fat content noticeable.
