indian potato balls
a girl i worked with used to bring these in for parties. her mom made them. they had these long hot seeds in them. i think they were fried. i have looked in books, google, everywhere. none of the recipies have the seeds and any pics i find don't look like hers. i have been craving these for such a long time. does anyone know about these delightful treats? thanks ahead of time.

The only seeds that could be in it, are mustard seeds.

Mares - not necessarily. Cumin seeds are long (but not hot). Mustard seeds are not really hot, either.

That sounds like aloo tikki...yummy! I've had them with roasted cumin seeds in them and once I had them with toasted fennel seeds. Several times there was chat masala in the tikkis as well as cumin seeds, and chat masala gives the tikki a pungent, sweet/sour, hot taste.
