In response to feriorrenna, what was the last INTERESTING thing?

The original question was a good one. But I hated my answer. The last thing to come out of my kitchen was tea. The last fun/interesting/good thing I cooked was lasagna.

How about you?

Mint chocolate cheesecake brownies. :)

Last night I made loaded mashed potatoes with bacon, garlic chips, green onions, bleu cheese, and bacon crumbles though. Those were good too. :)

Same answer. Rye bread. Right before that, it was a lot less interesting, because that was a ham sandwich and a cup of coffee.

The last really interesting thing, though, was the three rum cakes that have already been gifted away.

the smoked pheasant soup that's still simmering..... never did that. kind of like a smoked hock without the pork.....

Well, yes - still a pan of butterscotch brownies:-).

I started my baking marathon yesterday (finally!), and now I'm baking like mad to make sure I can start assembling my gift baskets by the end of the night - I want to deliver at least 4 tomorrow, possibly 3 more on Sunday and 4-5 more on Monday. Well, the OH is in charge of the delivery part:-)

Pumpkin bread. My boys have been devouring it and the dog managed to steal a couple of slices. She's fast.

Matcha and ginger white chocolate fudge.

Homemade New Mexico style chile (no cumin, onion, tomatoes) for frito pies, and choc chip cookies.
Semi-interesting, but very good (and all gone)
fudge is still boiling on the stove...

the last interesting thing or at least tasty thing was a batch of portugese sweet bread. (carby bread not offal) also last night was soup with turnip, onions and leeks a little garlic and lots of "wild mushrooms" in a veggie stock and thickened with some frozen okra. actually came out pretty tasty. which surprised the hell out of me ;-)

Can I answer in future tense?

Not all that interesting, but last night I had a small NY strip steak w/mushrooms and threw some carrots in with the potatoes, thinking I'd separate when cooked. Instead, I just mashed them all together and I have orange/white mashed potatoes. I also made a big salad and ate every bite. Tonight, I used the left over carrot/potato mash to top Shepherd's pie. Iced in with NO WINE! ;-(

Tuna steaks with wasabi sauce

I emptied out the pantry and made something incredible - a box of cooked pasta, a few strips of bacon, some diced pork and chicken cooked in the drippings with garlic powder and black pepper, a bechamel sauce flavored with paprika, garlic, and cayenne, mixed veggies, and topped with oregano and mozzarella. It was fantastic, and we're planning to make it again.

Beautiful linzer sablé cookies.

Caesar dressing. Just finished it.

jenilowrance ... Will you adopt me?!! I will do dishes and clean the kitchen with no whining!
