eating catish and catfish farmers

on flavour catfish is a must for all processing plants. how ever it seems that not all bus. are. the key to on flavour catfish is in the buyer at the plant. proper tasting of catfish is bakeing part of fish with out anything on it.(salt or flavour enhancement)
DELTA SUPREME CATFISH PROCESSORS is doing there utmost in this part. the rest depends on the people of our great nation. anotherwords, DON'T buy catfish on price alone.

it's so sad that most of our farmed fish taste like muddy, murkey water. i used to like tilapia -- and then it started tasting like how my fishtank smelled when it needed a cleaning.

i used to love catfish but quite frankly, i'm afraid to eat most fish. i do buy line caught salmon which is fresh frozen at the health food store.... and domestic shrimp. (gulf coast) the stuff coming from vietnam and china has been raised in toxic waters..... those pre-cleaned, cooked and ready to go shrimp are such poor quality.....

i'm also worried ..... thanks for raising the point.

um....
what?
farmed catfish is ok. some is eco-freindly. all catfish (farmed or wild) has an earthy taste. it is from a naturally occuring compound called giosim (i thin/in beets too.)
yeah...
weird post... was this an add?

Why is it that all these shills sound like they're translating their text from one language to another, and not quite getting it right?

What on earth does this mean:

it seems that not all bus. are. the key to on flavour catfish is in the buyer at the plant

I think mebbe the catfish got on the wrong bus, but I'm not sure.

I am forcing myself not to comment on the title, which cracked me up. 'nuff said.

Hey iz ~ where have you been darlin'?????

@Perky - you mean the part about eating catfish farmers? Because no matter what the price is, I wouldn't want to do that.

maybe the farmers do taste better than what they sell, though.

@brooke & @sweetieBird ~ yes, that's exactly where my mind went when I read the topic title. I'd say I have to know more about him, for starters. ;-D

I've met a few catfish farmers here in Ala and well if I wernt a very happy woman with my SO..... DINNER!!!!! (going to the bad girl corner now)

Where is izatryt when we need her???????????????

Izzzzzzyyyyyyyy, where ARE you????????????????

Working Perky. Working.

When I saw there were 11 responses to this thread, I got nervous, but I'm better now. Whew! I bet is tastes great with Kona coffee?

Catish and Kona coffee. Oh the possibilities!

@huney ~ LOL out loud!!!

@iz ~ phew, I was getting worried about you. Welcome home. ;-)

maybe english is a second language here?????

Nobody should ever eat catfish farmers. Too chewy!

Please, would you suggest some recipes for preparing catfish farmers? Would one for a used-car salesperson work?

Holding back, holding back, holding back. Oh my gosh, this is so hard. (Said the girl to the sailor.)

choosing a farmer is very important., always choose one that is fully ripe but not too ripe, they should jump when pinched for tenderness. A used car dealer recipe will work but the flavor will be "off" for best results use a good full bodied red wine liberally. ;-)

@huney - your recipe sounds like a winner! Although I'd also suggest adding some rum (rum extract would do, too) to get rid of that pre-packaged catfish farmer taste.

Hm... Does this mean that a mature catfish farmer is best stewed? And if so, is the flavour of the finished dish adversely affected by getting the farmer stewed on something cheap, like Four Roses?

Why is this under site feedback?

Note to self: always click on the topics with whacky and possibly boring titles.

Thanks all for the giggle!

This thing reads like a cut-up a laWilliam S. Burroughs.

@Cassaendra: I actually wondered what this was doing on SE at all, since it's evidently an unsolicited (and spectacularly ill-written) advert. I'm guessing it'll be deleted by one of the administrators, but in the meantime, it seems fair game for a bit of a giggle :D

my quest for on flavour catfish can now be ended.

I wonder what would accompany catfish farmer best - tartar sauce or whipped cream (unsweetened) with chives and dill, and a squeeze (oooohhhhh) of lemon?

This reminds me of a conversation here in my office in which a couple gals are convinced that "tilapia" doesn't sound like a fish but like a communicable social disease in need of antibiotics. =)

I'm thinking that with something this gamey, something more aggressive would be in order; I'm thinking chocolate/star anise/garlic/Captain Morgan.

Which reminds me of Dumas' entry (in his 'Dictionary of Cuisine') for coot:
'. . . . The male is better eating than the female. The female has a wild marine flavor that no seasoning can overcome. The finest cooks have been defeated in the attempt. Their best try, coot with chocolate, though a masterpiece of the art, has few admirers'.

Darn it, was beat massively to the "I'd rather not eat a catfish farmer, kthxbai" comment.

Hell. I showed this to my boyfriend, because I thought it was pretty funny, and he said that this is probably SEO (Search Engine Optimization) spam, in which the author is attempting to increase the incidence of a brand/product name on the on search engines (SE having a fairly substantial presence, clearly). It's been fun, but I'm hoping this post will be deleted. On the up side, the more words are on this page, the lower a percentage is represented by the name being pimped... and has anybody noticed that the poster has 'favourite'd the post?!
