Dining venues with extra sparkle during the holidays in New York...

Where are the restaurants and dining rooms that take on that extra flair during the holiday season in metro New York? For example, we enjoy the annual Holiday Fest at Mulino's in White Plains...great sparkling Christmas decor. What other spots can you recommend...

First one that comes to mind (although the food's not that great anymore) is Tavern on the Green. You might also try Park Avenue Winter between Madison and Park.

TOTG or Rolf's if you are OK with mediocre food.

Maybe Balthazar?

Rolf's for sure. I hear its pretty booked up though.

Sea Grill/Rock Center Cafe are pretty much right on the ice at Rockefeller Center. They're only moderately decorated, but people come from far and wide for the view. (which means they totally raise their prices in Nov/Dec, but sometimes view trumps value.)

I have to add La Fontanella in Pelham, N.Y. to this list...was there last night and the decorations sparkled putting everyone in a vibrant mood. Also had my first taste of seasonal venison...it came in a pasta of cavatelli in a rich gravy...Delish!
