A genuine kouign amann in New York City?
Is there a patisserie here in the city where one can find the real kouign amann? I have looked high and low and come up with nothing. Please help!

Alas Fauchon is gone. They had ones that were my choice for last meal.

It's hard enough to find a good one in Paris, let alone New York... The first thing I thought of was Fleur de Sel. They serve modernized Breton food. No kouign amann on the dessert menu, but I was thinking maybe you could call and ask the chef if he knows where to find one? Maybe convince him to make one for you??? I know, extreme measures, but just might be crazy enough to work. Good luck in your quest! Here's a recipe, maybe you should just do it yourself.
