What to do with wonton skins
Bought a package last night...60 round wonton skins, $1.99 (yay Kroger!). Told my husband "I keep seeing all these recipes that use them, so I thought I should get some and keep them in the freezer."
Now I have them...and for the life of me can't remember where I saw any of those recipes. =)
Any ideas (preferably using regular supermarket items)? Doesn't have to just be Asian...ravioli/pierogies/chocolate bonbons are fine too.

Cut up some banana and sprinkle a few semi-sweet morsels in with a chunk of banana...fry till crispy and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Yummy packets of gooey goodness.

@julie - deep-fry? or pan-fry like potstickers?

OMG, anything! You can do savory dumplings or sweet (as above which sound ultra scrumptious). If you vary the fillings but they don't look different enough, simply vary the shape of each type of dumpling for less confusion. Fold some in half, or using your hand as a "mold," make a dent in the middle of the wonton skin, fill, then press the sides of the wonton skin against the side of the filling. Flatten the bottom of the little "receptacle" and cook through. (Especially if you use pork.)
Deep fry, pan fry/steam - the world is your oyster!

I do a shallow pan fry, and watch them carefully so you don't burn them. Then drain on a paper towel before sprinkling.
Another option (if you don't like chocolate) is to do a mixture of banana, brown sugar and cinnamon with the tiniest pat of butter in there...like a mini bananas foster purse...

Make mashed potatoes preferably fresh, add some milk, butter, sour cream and some sharp cheddar cheese, mix then stuff and fold the wonton skins and fry in oil with some onions and green peppers. This is my homemade version of Perogies..

So funny you would ask this.....I have been trying to find a won ton soup but to no avail so just last night I made a pot of it.
Fried up some pork, added some green onions, mushrooms, water chestnuts and put them in the processor.
Made my little dumplings.
Chicken stock and some water, more mushrooms and onions and some bean sprouts. Boiled it, threw in the dumplings for about 8 minutes.
YUMMY!!! Going to have the leftovers right now......

I'm not sure how they're made exactly, but a Japanese restaurant I frequent serves a dish called a geisha's purse. It has chocolate, mascarpone and a macadamia nut inside a deep-fried wonton. They're bite-sized and delicious!

I slice them into noodle size and put them into a soup BUT last minute they do not take long to get velvet soft. They make a lovely noodle. I do the same with phad thai or stir frys but I love to make potstickers.

Ravioli! perfect for a rainy day production line. Make some homemade ricotta and use anything else. Put together, and freeze (of course eating some fresh ones that day). It's perfect for a quick dinner some other night. I just heat up some chicken broth, throw in the ravioli and have a great soup.

I'll probably catch hell for this but I like Alton Browns recipe for pot stickers, all the ingredients can be found at the grocery and they are really good. I also use them for crab ragoon and have even used them for a bastardized quick lasagna. They have tons of uses, just use your imagination life isnt all about actual recipes;-)
